cliched and shallow, as with last series the third episode is weak as hell.

Also this week was pirates and next looks like vampires/demons- theres fanservice and then theres a lack of originality.

Eh they could have done better I don't think there was a twist in the story that wasn't easy to see coming, Overall it felt kind of mediocre to me. :/

I don't get the same feeling with this series foreshadow of something bigger (the women behind the pannel) like I did with David Tennants last series 'He will knock 4 times' I'm not sure why :/

Oh and side note the preview for the next series? Why..why must the Ood always be the possessed spieces with the glowing eyes I'm starting to feel sorry for them.

Don't know how true this is but both my parents pointed out that the big booming voice in the trailer sounds like Tom Baker...
Tom Baker's dead though, so I doubt he'll make a cameo :L as cool as that'd be.

and I'm getting sick of Rory rapidly. The amount of times that he's died, and then come back... stop dicking around and just do it.
Tom Baker isn't dead, he spoke about Elizabeth Sladen's death literally 3 weeks ago

And yet, the Doctor allowed the Captain to stay so his kid would not die back on their old ship. This way the kid would live and get to stay with his father. Ok so he may never be able to leave the ship but it was his fathers choice.
I just think the Doctor works better when he's working for the greater good. One has to wonder how many people will die just because the Doctor was sentimental. Besides which, the rest of the crew are pirates who had no lesson to learn. Why would they stop piracy for no reason? As I say, I know this is really a kids show now but it's just not great on the Doctor's part.

Sorry, But I just noticed the Doctor is now a Tau :p

Man, that was just... that episode was just bad! There was so much wrong with it; it's Doctor Who plus pirates! How d'you screw that up that badly?

Like, right at the start, where Amy pulls a sword and fights off all those pirates; there is, of course, the obvious question as to how she attained the necessary swashbuckling skills to fend off a band of seaward vagabonds, but there was also the more obvious, glaring contradiction of "why didn't they just shoot her!?". Granted, this isn't the only work of fiction where that's come into play [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/WhyDontYaJustShootHim], but that doesn't change the fact that it doesn't particularly make sense for a gang of pirates to rush the woman with a sword with frickin' brooms when they've just been shown to have handy gunpowder-shooters at their disposal.

And a bit later, when those two pirates got siren'd; they didn't have that much trouble holding Rory back, but when the pirates were walking to their deaths the gang were just like "no, wait, don't... ah, he's gone, never mind." I actually came up with a couple of theories as to why the Doctor let the second one happen:

1. He's actually a far more morally vague character than the series makes him out to be, and he needed him dead so he could do the screwdriver thing on his hat to determine the origins of his foe, or

2. He just really wanted his hat.

Furthermore; when the Doctor suddenly decided "ooh, maybe when she vaporizes people she doesn't actually kill 'em! Let's test this theory out!" Like... what if she did kill 'em? That was an immensely stupid move on his part.

And my final qualm... why is it that everybody else got transported to the hold, but the Doctor, Amy and Barbossa didn't? They got taken not a minute after Rory and the kid, so it wasn't an issue of getting them there taking a long time; it was just a glaring plot hole!

Don't mistake me for a "hater" - hell, I actually enjoyed Love And Monsters - but I've got to say, this is my least favourite episode of Doctor Who in due memory. And I was really looking forward to this one...
I really agree with this, the episode was alright but was quite cliched and predictable and certainly not the best we've seen. Also as much as I like kids I think the boy wasn't a good addition to the episode, aside from not that great acting he kinda ruined the mood in the my opinion.

Very interested to see what comes up next week though!

They didn't want to fight Amy properly because there was a risk of being cut, which spells what they thought was death. I would say there's a possibility that stabilising an almost drowned man distracted the Siren from dealing with the other three. The Doctor had no other choice but to take a leap of faith, it was the only way to save Rory and quite possibly themselves, since there were only three of them left to run a ship in a storm otherwise. And the pirates were afraid to move towards the other pirates when they were that close to the Siren, whereas Rory was mostly behind and close to them. When he wasn't it was Amy and the Doctor who pulled him away.

I was wondering, if the siren can travel through reflections surely she would still be able to travel through the water even if it was not still, as it still shows a reflection... same with tiny shards of glass...

"I give self-confessed murderous pirates spacecraft. Murder is cool."

Considering how the entire schtick of Doctor Who is supposed to be time travel and causality I'm having real trouble with the Doctor's morality these last few episodes.
Im gonna go out on a limb here and guess you started with Tennant's spineless wimp of a doctor, that version was the exception- prior to that the Doctor was always quite subversive and sinister, kinda like the guy your glad you have on your team.

I loved this episode, I mean Pirates + Doctor Who = WIN, but what happed to that pirate that Toby cut? The other one fled and got killed by the siren and the cut one stayed. But then we never saw him again! Did he die or what?

Well tough, it isn't. It's Neil Gaiman.

This seemed much calmer than the last two episodes, which is nice...Also I realised that this episode had a ship, inside a ship, inside a ship, in space!

First point:
PIRATE AMY
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

*ahem*

Other, less important points:
The voice in the "next episode" thing is the one that says "fear me, I've killed hundreds of Time Lords" in the trailer. Slightly creepy.

Also, the next episode is called "The Doctor's Wife" and is written by Neil Gaiman. Incoming mindscrew!

It was an ok episode. It didn't make the earth move plot wise but I liked the twist at the end. That felt nice.

I am so, so, so looking forward to next week's episode "you're not my mother." the Doctor declares in the trailer, well who is she then?! I can't wait!

A) Doctor's morality is honestly taking a dive latley. "Genocide! Murdering Space Pirates! I have no problems with either!"

B) I KEEP DENYING FACT THAT THERE IS A LIVING TIMELORD. AND I DO IT IN CAPS TO MAKE MY POINT VERY OBVIOUS. THIS SHIT WILL NOT FLY AS IT DID WITH MASTER. You better have a good explanation.

C) Yes Amy's pregnancy is going to be this seasons "Bad Wolf", Vote Saxon or Torchwood. Although it's not too subtle. In fact it's so much "IN YO FACE" that I'm 90% sure they will do a "Suprising" story twist.

D) OOD! OOD!

E) I'm in the process of ripping that "I'VE GOT MAIL" soundbyte and gonna turn it into my text-message alert.

OH OH Also. Also the "Twist" at the end did not turn out to be a twist for me sadly. And quite possibly for quite alot of who fans. The same plot was used in the Fifth Doctor's adventure Audio Play by Big Finish called "The Whispering Forest".

Still

I get the feeling I'm not going to like this season very much.

Maybe it's because I just finished watching all of Eccleston through Tenant and realised that Matt Smith really doesn't measure up to either of them as a Doctor, maybe it's because so far every time Moffat has gone for scary it's made me laugh, maybe it's because I think he was at his best when he was an individual episode writer and should not be in charge of the whole thing.

As for this episode, laughable 'villain' with dodgy effects, slow plot that had so many possible resolutions less boring than the one they went with, and the crowning glory:

Mr Moffat, I understand that in a show where the lead character regularly changes actor, it can be hard to create real tension over his death, I do, but the answer is to not to keep giving us 'fake out' deaths with his companions. If you want it to mean something, death has to, well, mean something.

This is the third time I believe I have watched Rory Williams 'die'. If you're not going to let one stick, then don't keep showing me those scenes. I wasn't even remotely emotionally involved in the ending scene, because I just wanted to wait the requisite thirty seconds to see if he'd really do it or not. And when I'm counting down the moments until he 'miraculously' breathes again and comes back, then you're not doing your job very well.

Thank you Mr Moffat, please improve, because Doctor Who was doing so well until you took over.

EDIT: And I nearly forgot

STOP WITH THE FUCKING ODD!

They will never be as good as The End of Time, so don't even try, because you will fail as hard as when you failed at bringing the Weeping Angels back (God I hated that episode.)

I know what you mean about that becuase during the whole scene I was just thinking "hurry up and suddenly gasp for air, we all know its gonna happen"

Next week's one looks interesting, especially from that series trailer.

I loved this part of that though
"Fear me, for I have killed hundreds of time-lords"
"Fear me, for I killed all of them" ah was fun to watch :D

Pretty muh.

I spent most of the episode wondering where all they're budget had gone. The whole thing looked seriously, seriously cheap. And ultimately I just didn't find it super interesting. I did like the twist, how the Siren was actually a doctor which was a kind of cool idea. And I definitly want the space pirates to return at one point.

Honestly the episodes so far have me worried. I really liked last series despite the general muh-ness everyone else seemed to have for it but none of the episodes so far have really impressed me. And the over arching story line already has me confused because of how haphasidly set up it was in the first 2 episodes.

Also minor thing but...did anyone notice how no one made an effort to stop people from touching the siren apart from Rory?

Sure I'll upload it when I'll get it done. tomorrow perhaps tried today but It sounded very badly. And I'm tired.

EDIT: Also to sound smug because I love to do so. The twist was already predictable when we found out she takes anyone injured or ill in any way.

They should have let Rory die. That, I think, no one would have seen coming, and would have been far more interesting.
