Unfortunately I'm still on catchup, so I'm gonna catch all 4 episodes next week sometime in a Dr. Who Snickers.
Heh heh, I feel old for getting that joke..

Anyway, just finished watching the episode, don't really wanna spoil it for people that haven't.
All I have to say at this point is, For a man that has just Absorbed 500000 rads He sure seems to have a lot of time to mince about..

I have the feeling that Matt is going to be a David Tennant impersonator in terms of Doctor Who. Tennant is a damned hard act to follow in my opinion. Sadly, this means that Matt will be largely unappreciated unless he really pushes to make the character his own.

I hope Smith can live up to Tennant, everyone is doubting him.
Well, he did come straight after the man whom lots of people think of as being the best Doctor ever. Any actor who isn't that well-known following David Tennant would have high standards to meet.

Still, should be interesting to see him as the Doctor.

I'm also interested in seeing what the new head writer will do to the series, seeing as he has a reputation for making the scarier episodes of Doctor Who (The Empty Child, Blink, Silence in the Library etc.).

EDIT:

I noticed that too. He took his time about the whole dieing thing, I reckon.

David Tennant, John Simm, Bernard Cribbins and Timothy Dalton just made sweet love to my senses.

I now have a small amount of respect for Russel T. Davies, even with his love of running down corridors and writing in gay references everywhere.

The only reason I ever watched that poor excuse for a sci-fi show was Billy Piper. She's hot.

yay the best part was the Master just "disappearing", he's gonna be back at some point or another. Not sure about the new doctor though, guess I'll give him a chance when the new series starts, now to wait until Gavin and Stacy comes on.

David Tennant: I don't want to go...

*Crys*

WE DON'T WANT YOU TO GO EITHER TANNANT! PLEASE STAY!! PLEEEEEAAAASSSSE!!!

*Wipes his tears away*

Well...that was...a lot better than I expected. The only really bad thing I have to say about this episode is all Earths defences consisting of about 4 missles and the fact that I don't like the new Doctors chin:forehead:face ratio.

Too long, it would've been more emotionally shocking if they would've done it quicker, more epic, not alone and distant in his little blue box. They could've made me cry, destroy that carapace that is my outer, stone shell. Ah well, I still wept like a baby on the inside.

Also, is Moffat going to be the new lead writer? AWESOME!!! I knew that RTD was leaving, but not that Moffat was taking over as the lead writer, that's brilliant. RTD still kind-of redeemed himself though, this was one of his best episodes, but Moffat is just fantastic. I hope he can continue his brilliant line of horror episodes.

Y'know someone has already started a 'Bring Tennant Back as Doctor' group on Facebook. And considering its only been five minutes since the episode ended, that's quick work!

By the way, episode was great.

This. Those three just took that episode and made it explode with awesomeness.

It was an incredible series ender, probably the best. The time Lords didn't get quite enough time to become a threat, but those whole argument with David holding the gun made up for it. That was intense.

Ah David, how I shall miss you... :( I would have been in tears, had relatives not decided to phone halfway through, my brother decide to talk loudly to them (mostly 'yeah', yeah', 'yeah'...), then my family to discuss what Matt Smith may wear as the Doctor and my dad suggest he would go naked. Seriously, I was just about ready to tell them to shut it so I could watch.

Not sure about the Doctor revisiting Rose. Wouldn't she have recognised him when Doctor 9 became Doctor 10? OK, it was dimly lit, and she'd probably been drinking, but still that got me a little.

I won't judge Smith yet, not until we've seen more of him. He was alright though, even if the camera angles through some proportions; at least to me. :/

Just ended and it was sadly ruined by the fact no-one on the writing, directing or editing staff know how to keep hold on an emotional moment.

Good bits:
Bernard Cribbins. All hail a great actor. Every moment between him and the Doctor was fantastic and he is definitely one of the best (if not the best) companions The Doctor has had since they restarted the series.
David Tennent. Brilliant Doctor and sad to see him go, but I'm just worried that after having such a successful run as The Doctor, it will be hard for people to take him seriously. Hope not as he's a great actor and hope he finds some more work.
The Time Lords. Even though The Masters plan was stupid, I thought the use of The Time Lord was very good and in was interesting to hear The Doctor's motives behind what he did.

Bad bits:
The ending.
I thought that every moment from when The Master sacrificed himself up until the credits wsa absolutely fantastic especially when you finally figure out that Wilfred will kill him. Sadley, they destroyed the emotional tension with that FUCKING STUPID BAR SCENE!! Almost threw something at the TV when that came on. Ruined the moment and the atmosphere and meant the final scene with Rose had a lot less impact.
The Mysterious Woman. Just wish they'd mentioned her name. Lost money because they didn't.

EDIT
Another bad thing was with Donna. They gave her the build up then knocked her out for the rest of the episode. Bastards!

Not to me and all the people who dislike Doctor Who, I'm not. Think before you type, everyone's entitled to an opinion.
Not when it comes to Dr. Who you're not.
You're wrong.
Bloody moron.

It ended today? Does that mean that the BBC is going to end David Tennantmas? He's everywhere on tv, it's ridiculous, he's like a male Myleene Klass (Those who don't know what I'm talking about, you're not missing out on anything)

To quote Wikipedia:

A lifelong fan of Doctor Who, Moffat has written several episodes of the revived series and will succeed Russell T Davies as lead writer and executive producer as of its fifth series in 2010.
So yeah, we can now be scared out of our wits on a weekly basis this spring.

Just occured to me they fucked up several things.

a) They didn't exposite the Doctors on his final regeneration therefore making his 'OMG Im gonna die speach' a touch underwhelming. Maybe a monologue about all the lives hes lived etc ....

b) They didnt use the opportunity to add new visual imagery of bad guys just some cool sounding words. Degenrates of midoth etc etc etc.

c) They didnt use the Timelord bubble nonsense as an opportunity to reboot the reboot and bring back the classic bad guys & giving them carte blanche to utilise original episodes as reference and resource.

On a side note who was the old lady?
I believe it was either the doctors daughter or wife.. Wife i think, From the library episode where the shadows ate people
