Just finished the book today. Now I want to see the movie but I have heared mixed things about the movie. Any one here read the book and seen the movie and is the movie worth seeing?
ahh man I was hoping to see the ending of the book on the big screen...was a pretty crazy ending I do say.super_smash_jesus said:The movie was still good, but it felt like they missed a lot of the points of the book. Also, the ending is a LOT different, which kind of sucks, even though the end of the book is absolutely ridiculous.
You're watching the wrong adaptations then.ansem1532 said:Movies always kill the book.
Tis a fact of life.
Agreed-- Lord of the Rings didn't kill the book; it Killed Tom Bombadil. (what a cryin' shame.)Malicious said:ansem1532 said:Movies always kill the book.

I'm sorry, but i thought they were both awfull. Its probably because its too different to most of what i'm into though.
One of my friends loves the book though, and her opinion is that the film isnt that bad but does take something away from the book.
Well thats good to hear I am going to have to see it...Now I need to check if its still in theaters around here.jcptopi said:Surprisingly, no, it doesn't. Mind you, it trims the book down a fair bit, and cuts out a fair number of characters and plot points that I liked from the book, but all in all, against all odds, I enjoyed it. Of note, I hated The Da Vinci Code adaptation, and I came in expecting this one to be much of the same, but oddly enough, it made enough strides forward to be entertaining enough to recommend.
So many of the things that I liked from the books showed up in the movie, and the acting was above average, and often fairly good. I especially liked Ewan McGregor as the Camerlengo, and Pierfrancesco Favino as Olivetti. Though the storytelling falls flat sometimes, it never does so badly enough to affect the overall enjoyable experience of the movie.
Finally, the movie looks really good on the big screen. In particular, the big finale with the helicopter, as well as what happens along with that scene, just looks phenomenal, and honestly looks as if a portal to heaven has opened up in all its glory. Needless to say, that happens to the scene's benefit.
Agreed. Agreed wholeheartedly. Him and Stephanie Meyer need their keyboards taken away.The_Deleted said:I think Dan Brown kills literature.
