The movie was still good, but it felt like they missed a lot of the points of the book. Also, the ending is a LOT different, which kind of sucks, even though the end of the book is absolutely ridiculous.

Personally I didn't even like the book. But just looking at the cast tells me that this will be worse than the book.

I thought it was hard to kill a bad book with a worse film, but i was wrong. I'm sorry, but i thought they were both awfull. Its probably because its too different to most of what i'm into though.
One of my friends loves the book though, and her opinion is that the film isnt that bad but does take something away from the book.

Surprisingly, no, it doesn't. Mind you, it trims the book down a fair bit, and cuts out a fair number of characters and plot points that I liked from the book, but all in all, against all odds, I enjoyed it. Of note, I hated The Da Vinci Code adaptation, and I came in expecting this one to be much of the same, but oddly enough, it made enough strides forward to be entertaining enough to recommend.

So many of the things that I liked from the books showed up in the movie, and the acting was above average, and often fairly good. I especially liked Ewan McGregor as the Camerlengo, and Pierfrancesco Favino as Olivetti. Though the storytelling falls flat sometimes, it never does so badly enough to affect the overall enjoyable experience of the movie.

Finally, the movie looks really good on the big screen. In particular, the big finale with the helicopter, as well as what happens along with that scene, just looks phenomenal, and honestly looks as if a portal to heaven has opened up in all its glory. Needless to say, that happens to the scene's benefit.

Agreed on everything except LOTR trilogy, you got to admit man, that was f-ing awesome

And i didnt read the book and the movie story wasent that good,me no liked fiction like that
Agreed-- Lord of the Rings didn't kill the book; it Killed Tom Bombadil. (what a cryin' shame.)

OT: It's a Dan Brown book-to-movie adaptation. Anything the movie does kill is probably not going to be missed...unless you have a deep, crazy, fetish-like attraction for that sort of thing.

It strays from the book at times, but it is still a very good movie. Tom Hanks gave another great perfomance.

It's a good movie, but it's hardly anything like the book beyond the title. Great film, well worth a watch, just don't think that you'll understand it more if you've read the book first.
