When i've been playing FF7 for the PC for about 2 hours without saving, thinking, "Oh, I can take this boss, I did the last one just fine." then going to fight it and dying. Thats when I rage quit.

.. Hmm, that wasn't a fear.

I guess it would have to be that feeling you get when you KNOW that something is going to come up from the ground, water, that locker right in front of you, etc.. I hate it.

I freak out when I get shot from nowhere in particular without warning. This happens mostly in Fallout 3. So just walking around I lose my nerve.

Here's just a few:

Anything creepy that materializes out of nothing to just eerily walk across the screen, such as the little girl from F.E.A.R. from time to time.

The first Houdini Splicer you come across in Bioshock. You see his shadow around a corner then it's gone and when you go investigate his little alter he pops up behind you then just disappears.

Wallmasters and Floormasters in Ocarina of Time.

The spore-thingies from the original Halo. It might be silly but I just hate it that, when you managed to kill everything within a 100 mile radius, a few dozen of them jump on you from the ceiling.
And of course darkness. I hate darkness, I hate it so much that I have develloped a psychosis that, if there is a dark corner in a shooter (especcially in Fallout 3) I at least unload one clip in that place. Even if I know that it is clear. I also did this in real life once, with my crossbow. I am so sorry Richard. So sorry.
Also I hate the sound arrows make. because when you hear it, you know that trouble is coming.
Fast. With a sharp pointy bit. Straight to your face.

While playing Resistance 2, I found I have a horrible fear of Grim nests. The town infested with pods, the derelict and half-submerged building, the stalled lift in the middle of a nest, and the pitch-black tunnel brimming with grim pods were all incredibly tense for me.

Water. Murky water.

Not so much swimming on top of it but when you duck underwater.
I always expect something to come out of nowhere straight at me.

Enemies I cannot see in general scare me, for example the invisible dudes in FEAR and FEAR2.. Whenever I hear them around I back into a corner with my back against the wall.

And ofcourse any alien I can't see in any X-Com game.
You can hear them growling around and slaughtering civilians (Terror missions, anyone?) but you only see them when it's too late.
*pewpewpew* from some shadow I can't see and half my team is wiped out without me even knowing who's shooting..

Hearing things but not seeing them. Doom 3 scared the s**t out of me, as did a lot of Morrowind's and Oblivion's dungeons.. Haunted Dwemer places *cry*

And last, moving around corners and through doors in almost any game, you just KNOW there's some alien/terrorist/jesus behind them waiting to melt your face off :(

Water sections. Waist high water, the ocean, deep lakes. I get physically ill when having to do these.

I mainly blame Resident Evil for this. You can never go into the water without something (giant shark, giant fish thing, alligators) jumping out and eating your face. It left mental scars, I tell ya.

I can't see. I just can't see. I know there's something below the surface, just waiting to grab me, but I can't see it. I need to go this way to finish the quest. They know I can't see, and they're hoping I'm freaked out about it. It's just worse when nothing happens initially, and then fish to the face.

True, nothing in space can hear you scream, but at least you can see in space.

I have wicked in-game claustrophobia. Tiny, dark spaces...I hate 'em.

It all started with Fatal Frame III, where you had to (God only knows why) explore the crawlspace under the house. So you're trudging along in your short skirt and all of a sudden this ghost girl starts crawling at you with the speed of a damn locomotive, and all the while I am trapped in 85 year old woman speed.

So Half Life 2 had some very non-fun moments for me.

John Romero.

Every time I play an FPS, I just know that somewhere, somehow, the creator of Daikatana is planning to screw me over.
