Poor cinematography and poor acting. The Transformer novelty and nostalgia does nothing for me and special effects are very neutral for me. I don't dislike them, but just throwing names or money into something doesn't necessarily make it good. All in all, everything is neutral or negative about it, so they made for bad movies.

1986 movie is awesome, except Unicron kind of goes down like a *****. 2007 was alright, nothing spectacular. Revenge of the Fallen is just assault on the human mind. I don't think the point of a Transformers movie is for me to care more for Shia Lebouf than giant freaking robots. Actually just watch MovieBob's review and you'll know how I feel.

Blasphemy! BURN THE WITCH!!!!
Just kidding.(sort of. Okay, restraining myself to chair while it passes.)

I LOVED the first Transformers movie. And not because of Megan Fox. I liked how they made it for an older age group than the cartoon was for.(since everyone who's seen the cartoon is probably at least 18 by now)
It wasn't perfect, but I didn't expect it to be.

The second one was a bit cheesy.(As in, a lot) But I thought it was at least entertaining.(my opinion of the second movie's rating might be skewed because of Megan Fox this time. Just a little...)

We hate it because it's just horrible filmaking. The adaptioon complaints are NOTHING compared to the overall filming and writing. It's just ass. The few redeeming things are crushed under god awful writing. I really liked Transformers as a kid . . . now I just wonder why? The goddamn cartoon movie had better writing.

Fucking Michael Bay.

Don't believe me? Watch these:

I actually didn't mind the storyline, and I enjoyed the effects. My biggest issue (aside from Shia Lebeouf) was the visual design of the Transformers. As a G1 kid, I hated that they not only didn't look anything like what they "should have" but also that they just didn't look visually appealing at all. When they were fighting it was actually really hard to tell what was even going on.

I enjoyed the first one immensely, having watched it over a dozen times. However, I could barely sit through 2, which was a pile of absolute shit.
^that about sums up the first and second film for me

I fucking loved the first one. Then again I never really liked the cartoons. It seems that most of the people who hate the first Transformers movie were fans of the show and see Michael Bay's movies as ruining it.

Transformers 2 was objectively bad. Yeah, I don't know anyone who said they liked it. The most positve response I've heard first hand was "I wasn't that bad, wouldn't watch it again in a hurry though"

I did. And I liked the older cartoons and most of the comics. Though the second movie annoyed me, I didn't hate it.

I loved the first one because I watched it in Spanish. Which is a language I can't speak. Therefore I didn't understand much of this horrific "plot" everyone keeps rambling on about and just enjoyed the big Michael Bay explosions, the giant robot fights and Shia Labeouf looking like an idiot for most of the film.

I liked them both but I have to admit the second ones story kinda didn't make sense and it would be much better if all the human parts got removed and it was just 2 hours of robots fighting.

I've got a sneaky plan, I'm going to buy Michael Bay a tripod for Christmas. No more shaky cam I can actually follow whats going on and Transformers 3 might be worth watching.

Hate's a strong word, but they weren't good movies by any means.
HATE is the only word that can define the atrocity. My childhood was DESTROYED here.
Well, I know it's difficult, but the thing you can do is not watch it.

It's not canon or anything, if you like the franchise, why should you care?

Really, if your childhood is DESTROYED by a loud, stupid adaptation of a series you once liked, maybe you shouldn't be watching adaptations at all.

OT: I've only seen the first one... It was kind of alright. Certainly not Bay's best, but fairly enjoyable nonetheless.
I can just ignore but let's face it, anytime I tell somebody I still like TF, Bay's ASS will be in their mind.

They won't care about the good times with Marvel comics, the cartoon or the colorful awesome old toys . . . all they will think of is mind-numbing CGI, bad jokes and racism. It makes fans look like morons, just like Lucas and the prequels.

They also give movies a bad name. Anytime anyone wants to make an action movie THIS will be their role model just because of the money this atrocity pulled in.

Audiences aren't stupid! Please stop paying for this crap so we can see something GOOD for a change.

How can a movie destroy your childhood Mr Melodrama?
I am being Mr. Melodrama. I really am. It's trully ruined the feeling it used to have for me. Transformers is by no means some great piece of fiction that deserves all the drama I give it, but it's a great franchise I was fond of and I feel it's damages far outweigh just fans, it's damaged the world. It deserved better writing and direction.

Sorry but it just bothers me that much.

It seems a lot of users here aren't a fan of Michael Bay, but personally, I've enjoyed most of the films I've seen by him, even Transformers. But I never watched the TV series of Transformers, and I'm a fan of that 'Hollywood-esque' film type.
