This isn't going to give your PTSD.

Read up on the latest articles about the condition and it'll become apparent the debilitating effect will not occur if you realise it was a not real.

See there has been a LOT of study into PTSD from just how many Coalition troops are exposed to ambushes and IED attacks, expensive research has shown that PTSD sets in during the aftermath of a traumatic event as the victim's mind tries to process all the memories, not during the actual event itself.

In effect, the mind overcompensates and gives the memories Super labels them and it becomes debilitating as they are constantly reminded and practically relive the horrors of an ambush ever time a car back fires or a door slams or anything reminds them of the event.

If during this aftermath period as the brain is sorting the memories it is interrupted, it has been found PTSD can bee significantly reduced and those who experienced the events can approach their memories far more rationally and in control. This process can be interrupted with certain techniques and exercises mostly to do with distracting the brain from doing it's job.

I suspect the same thing would happen here, if in the aftermath they learned it was all a cruel joke then the mind would not label as "EXTREME DANGER, Don't ever forget this Memory!" as the apparent reality of the situation has completely changed.

That was fucking amazing, defiantly condone more shows like this. Defiantly to celebrates but being able to sign your friends up to have it done to them aswell would be insanely comical.

Could do it as a revenge show thing, where you sign up your friend saying what they did to you, then the best ones get to pull a prank on their friend in a way that fits with what they got done to them.
If the pranks are as good as that, it would be the best thing on TV by far.

and yes, I would laugh my tits off after having a prank like that on me, it would also be a good experience to know how I'd react if such an event actually occurred.

Um... Westerners made 'Scare-Tactics,' remember?
I do. Best. Show. Ever.
Who could forget the gay fellow they scared with the midget in a rat suit? Classic...
I couldn't stop laughing for weeks. Though the one where they have the guy dressed as a big foot attack that SUV full of chicks was my personal favorite.

You're really taking the "new" out of news, but assuming that 's' at the end stands for source, you really came through. People have been using that face as a reaction image on 4chan since Bush was in office, but I was never able to find out what it was from.

That's actually pretty terrible. It's strange how everyone is laughing as he tries to crawl away from the window when that's what anybody would do if they thought that their friends were just killed right in front of them and someone was after them next. They took it over the line with just that, but when the guy comes in with the gun is just beyond terrible.

I found that vaguely humorous, I think that if it happened to me, despite my initial response-which would of been similar to his, that after a while I would see the funny side, of course I'd want some money to.

The only problem I see is that if these people had underlying health conditions or mental issues-like PTSD-it could be very damaging to them, so I have no objection to these shoes, as long as they take responsibility for their 'victims' and at lest give them a bit of compensation afterwards. Though that could bankrupt the show, it's a necessary evil in my opinions.

Also, OP, I've seen worse than his- ever seen the UKs version of Jackass?

Yeah, but the thing that makes me say that is when it actually happens he's going to look for hidden cameras and a studio audience and get shot or something

That's horrible, and hilarious at the same time. Overboard, but still made me laugh. However seeing the people in that little widget window laugh like crazy, was a little unnerving...

I laughed so hard.

His panic face was great. This has to be the best reality TV series ever, because the victims actually think its REAL.

Well, Japanese TV can do whatever it wants I suppose, but I think it's way over the line. I lived about a block away from one of the schools where the "Beltway sniper" (actually in Bowie, MD) shot a 13 year old, and my wife taught at a school in the county where another shooting took place.

Really not that funny at the time, to be honest, especially when the media was convinced the shooter was firing out of the back of a white work van. There's about a billion of those in the DC area, and I always managed to drive right behind one.

As long as the vic-*cough* Contestants are pre-screened for heart problems, mental illness, or a history of aggression, it's good fun.

I feel really bad for the man. I mean, the simulated sniper was fine, but coming and pretending to kill him while he thinks, "Oh fuck, this is it" is NOT COOL JAPAN. What if the dude had a heart attack? You'd be in some seriously deep shit then.
