I couldn't help laughing a bit, perhaps because I couldn't understand anything he said, but all the while I felt a feeling like "This isn't right.". Maybe crosses the line a few inches.

I think the first bit was funny when the sniper shot but the second bit when the gun man came in was taking it too far, that should of been the presenter coming in to tell him it was a joke not the gunmen making the guy cry.
Pretty much this. I don't watch ANY reality TV, because it's all too mean-spirited.

I watched a few eps of Sci-Fi's "Scare Tactics" and thought some of their scenarios were pretty messed up but a faux-sniper attack is a bit much. I don't understand Japanese but I imagine the "victim" is saying, at the end, "I've shit myself, and I hate you fucking guys."

So, yeah, this goes in the "Not Cool" category for me.

I laughed yes, but still, the guy seriously thought that he was going to die probably. That would be terrifying, so yes, it's taking it to far.

I would love to see the live audience who got a laugh out of this being pranked just as horribly. Like a very convincing fake earthquake or something.

They definitely deserve it for enjoying human misery to such an extent.

This is what you call "Bad candid camera".

Back when Iraq gave doing candid camera a shot, they had terrible tastes & ideas. As a result, every single episode followed the template:

GET PUMPED UP -> DISAPPOINT -> PROVOKE INTO A FIGHT -> BREAK UP FIGHT -> SHOW CAMERA

which was utterly unfunny :/

Sadly, I'm of two minds with this. On one hand, it was very funny. On the other, it was very cruel. (Ya, I'm succinct.) It would have been more acceptable if it didn't last so long, just got one "shot" off and spare him the fear.

In my opinion that is definitely crossing the line. That guy could be traumatised for life now, all for the sake of a show?
Sick, and you won't hear me say that often.

Honest, yeah, but then again, I think most Japanese game shows are cruel and unusual (in equal measures often). This one simply proves how warped the Japanese gameshow can be.

Dude nice. I lol'd. Also this guy is a total noob in taking cover.
Doubt your any better, that was real life, and he was experiancing real terror. Go back to COD.
Dude. If someone shoots at me and misses, the first thing to do is NOT to just sit there and wait to get killed. You should have at least a survival instinct which goes over "just sitting on your ass and covering yourself with your arms and hoping that guy with the sniper rifle will have mercy because that's so logical". AT LEAST fall down on the ground. Best would be hiding behind the sofa and moving away slowly. OK, I have been in a gunfight, but still, you have to have the guts to handle a situation like that to a minimum. If you don't, then you got a problem. Same works for everyone, me as well.
