This is just a spin on any of those cops-busting-in pranks. While many western people might find this cruel, nobody was actually hurt, and I bet they all got hell from the prankee afterward.

For me, being in on the joke was hilarious

This is not funny, that man could develop PTSD. If you like funny faces, maybe you should hire a clown instead of possibly scarring a man for life.

I agree with this.

It's not even remotely amusing to make someone believe they're going to be killed.

This reminds me of that car oil commercial (the one where they'd dump sludge on a car). People getting scared is only funny when it isn't you. I simply don't understand people who get their jollies from this stuff.

The face was priceless. But simulating a sniper attack takes things too far. Scare the shit out of the guy. Just don't scare him so much that he's going to need mental therapy for the next 3 months!!!

...I am amazed at the ammount of people that would sue over this. I really am. This coming from a person who, in a sniper attack, would start crying in the foetal position.

Besides, I'm fairly certain if you're from Japan, you are at least vaguely aware of the prank shows. Doesn't America have some show where people get kicked in the bollocks on camera? Same principle.

Cruel humor. I love it.
Had I been in the same situation, I'd probably act the same as that guy did.

Another reason this wouldn't happen in the US... imagine if they pulled this on someone who has a gun (legal in some states, though I don't know the specifics).

"Oh ****! He's firing back! Someone tell him it's a joke before somebody gets killed!"

This is both horrible and great.
Horrible in that yes, this could fuck with someone for real, and great in that I'd fucking love to be on a show like this.

I laughed, and I laughed hard! I love the entertainment that this country exports! My laughter is so worth his traumatic experience and future therapy sessions. I know that my views would change if the tables were ever turned and I was the victim of such a prank, but as it stands that's my opinion.

Thank you Japan. I love you!

The Japanese fight bugs on television. I'm pretty sure a sniper prank isn't really that extreme by their standards.

Totaly pathetic, dishonerable beyond belief - it ashames me that im a member of a species that amuses itself this way.

If the show producers had any self respect they would commit ritual suicide.
