While many western people might find this cruel, nobody was actually hurt,

people who thought that that was "going to far", need to really lighten up. that was frikken' hilarious and its not like anyone got hurt
Except mentally. The fear and humiliation probably won't be forgotten in a week, you know. There are other kinds of damage than physical wounds. People who disregard that fact have lived very sheltered lives.

Besides, I'm fairly certain if you're from Japan, you are at least vaguely aware of the prank shows.
I'm aware of world hunger, that doesn't mean I want to starve.

How about the author of this article stop whining about japanese shows and whine about scare-tactics first, a western show that had a girl think she killed an innocent boy right before her eyes with her own hands.
And that only means that show is just as horrible, it doesn't make this show any better.

Ok. I actually did some digging "IE read comments on the blog page" and it turns out the guy's a pro comedian in japan. According to one of the commenters who has basic cable over there, Comedians there are constantly doing this to each other, pranking and scaring each other for entertainment. This guy in the vid has a 4chan meme already from previous times of him making that 'panic face' and Im sure he realized soon into it it was a prank (again) and went along with it. I repeat he was not a random dude off the streets.

See what happens when we stop passing judgement instantly and do 3 minutes of research (comment reading)?
I don't want to hear anymore griping from you gripers now, America's scare-tactics takes innocent people off the streets. Now start laughing like you should've from the beginning.

Read my post. I won't rag on you since you really thought it was real and he was traumatized, so no hard feelings right?

Another reason this wouldn't happen in the US... imagine if they pulled this on someone who has a gun (legal in some states, though I don't know the specifics).

"Oh ****! He's firing back! Someone tell him it's a joke before somebody gets killed!"
I was about to say, I know at least twelve people that would pull a handgun and begin firing out the window at whoever they thought was the sniper (Note: I may be an extreme case, as I live in Texas, but the same basic concept would probably apply in the rest of the U.S.)

The poor's guy face was hilarious, but they definetly went too far in getting it.

I'd probably make similar expression if people near me got shot.

Cross the line? Not even remotely. Its not like they actually killed anyone and threatening someone with death shouldn't really be considered that bad, we all die eventually but if you can't accept that, well, that's a whole other host of psychological problems, isn't it?

I found that hilarious. I can understand why some people would be upset, but seriously, did you see the look on that guy's face?!

Not at all a few episodes of Scare Tactics got that far into life threatening status they just don't make them simmer that long after the mock death of other people.

If there's a bright side, he's going to spend the next years of his life learning self defense so if that ever happens again, he'll be prepared for it.

Alright, they toed the line a little much this time. I remember when someone did the same thing to an American TV show about causing fear, where one woman thought she was going to die from a hijacking, and she ended up suing the pants off them because she had a stick up her ass.

Granted, I can understand that I have an unfair neutral ground to stand on, but the idea ultimately seems harmless to me so long as no one gets hurt and the person learns about the prank later.

I hate to sound like a prude but I think they went too far with the gun man coming and pointing a gun in the guys face.

To all the people who posted here over the last six pages, yes you people who just made me loose a tiny bit of faith in humanities... well, humanity:

How about we place all you in that room so people with the same warped twisted sense of humor can laugh at you while you practically wet your self with fright.

Well I guess I need to reminder that quite a few of you are under 18 and I highly doubt there are many others that have served in a military, and even fewer that have actually been in a fire fight.
