I honestly think this went too far... some one could have been killed.

I for one would have kicked the door down to get out... and who knows what would have happened if the other guy knew a thing or two about fighting and killed the actor with the fake gun.

Never joke about death. It's far to serous.

I thought the first part was funny, but when the two other people burst in, well, that's when I thought they had taken it too far. It probibally should have stopped when he tried to get out.

Just my 2 cents

it was funny, but that crossed a fine line.
That bloke thought we was going to die, now put your self in his shoes, tell me what would you do.

Not funny, not remotely. If you've ever had a gun pointed at you for real you'd know that it can screw your mind up permanently. Way too far. If this was not an act, I really feel for the guy. If this was an act I'd totally feel differently, but if that guy didn't know what was up they just gave him a case of PTSD that could bleed into other issues for him.

This isn't entertainment, it's cruelty.

I've seen another one where they trick a women into thinking she saw a guy hanging that was mean she started beating the presenter up when he told her

It was over the line but still very very funny...

I don't really think it crossed the line...what does that phrase REALLY mean, though? It's all about personal boundaries, and if the guy the prank was played on can laugh about it then I say it's fine. I also don't think there's anything wrong with laughing, here: for those of you who do laugh, I'm guessing you probably wouldn't if it was security footage of an actual sniper shooting, even if he reacted exactly the same way. It was fake, and we all know that, so it's fine to laugh. I wouldn't say it's humiliating, either. For anyone who thinks that...meh, don't really know what to say to you. Do you think people would look at this guy and laugh in his face because he was freaking out? You'd probably respect the hell out of him for still standing, and I imagine any reasonable person would respect the experience, too. It's sort of what we want horror movies to do to us...unless you're a person that actually appreciates the cheese factor.

I highly doubt there could be lasting, crippling psychological damage. He might consider not sitting with his back to any windows for a while, but that's just good sense! :p

The Japanese have proven time and time again to be a bunch of depraved people. I'd blame the radiation, but this seems to be a nation-wide thing.

If someone did that to me on a reality tv show, none of you would ever know about it.

You would see me on the evening news later that night, however.

I'd say that was way beyond the line, its practicly making death threats (by way of faux sniper bullets) to random people, then broadcasting their fear nationwide to boot.

But I guess Japananese TV-shows have always seemed extreme, so it might be a perfectly reasonable thing to do in Japan - although I hope this one is pushing it there too.

Ok, I laughed, but not at the guy.

I laughed at the fact that this show could even exist in the first place. I mean, the guy is obviously horrified, as far as he's concerned, he was just involved in a major crime, and probably was going to die himself.

That's horrible, and I feel a little sick. I laughed, but it was a laugh at the people who were laughing at this poor guy.

Thinking that you're going to die *and* you just saw a bunch of your mates killed in front of you. Ha ha. Very funny :sarcasm: No, There is definitely a line of human anguish that is no longer funny but torture. The Entertainment industry crosses it far too often. The sad fact is, it seems that these safety issues only serve to *boost* their ratings rather than the other way around. Passing out in Amazing Race, Numerous injuries and hospitalizations in Hell's Kitchen, as well as injuries in Survivor. It seems they actually use these as selling points. You should not be rewarded for having an unsafe environment.

I've heard of other hidden camera shows, one taking place at an airport supposedly introducing a ludicrous new scanner. The victim called the crew on it, realizing it was a hidden camera show. The crew continued the facade, insisting he go through with it or he wouldn't be allowed on board or arrested. He reluctantly did so, injuring his back.

How dare people think they can take the health and well-being of people for their own dollar? They should be arrested.

The guy in this video could totally have psychological damage after this. And who said this poor guy received any cash or prizes for his trouble?

Anybody who thinks this is funny has never been on the receiving end of such a cruel joke.

If this isn't crossing the line - what IS?

That was funny but they should have put more effort into it, I think that would have taken it to a whole other level. Darker room, laser dot on the wall, better actors etc etc. As for the experience, as long as he remains alive its a great story to tell later on... :)

Thats taking it way to far. Pranks with any weapon, especially one as powerful as a rifle is over the top!

I didn't even find it funny.

Hope the next candidate does not die off a heart attack. Oh, but who would care, real death means more viewers will zap in..
