I still think that 75% isn't great. I can't believe that even 25% of people can think that it's okay.

Well that was horrible to watch. I'm kind of surprised that that sort of thing still goes off to be honest... and that 25% of the poll thought it was okay?
25% isn't too bad to be honest. Considering enough people were sick enough to find it worth broadcasting, only a quarter of all voters is a fairly good outcome. Obviously it's still bad that there's 25% of people liking this..but there are a lot of horrible people in this world -points at /b/ for reference-

Considering that's all that's left now, I gave up the fight. There's no point trying to keep the old rule applications when 98% of people don't even care...or in fact, know of them. =[

Okay I'm Australian here, and I am not offended by the fact that its our national emblem. Hell, we EAT kangaroo for Christ's sake! And most farmers (to my knowledge) view kangaroo as vermin, like rabbits and mice. They kill them.

What I am offended by is the way they treat it, and how they are getting it mad just for sport. That's just mean. They're just trying to make a quick buck. That is whats disgusting.

I don't mean to to sound like someone from Greenpeace or anything, but really?

Edit: Okay beat to it by the above post. Yes, we do view them as a pest. They eat all up in our shit and cause problems for farmers.
then put them in a box and send them to america. then put it on a reality TV show....
Okay your an idiot, whatever way you look at it. And obviously somebody has already done that.

Besides, half my annoyance is that its being done by Americans, not saying that you are. I dislike Americans (generally, there are a few I like (tho I have not been over there)). I also dislike EVERYONE really, but America is pretty high on the list.

-raises hand- Umm I've seen Naruto and never recall ANY power he had with his head burried in the sand. Sounds like a case of the USA allowing kids to blame their invisible friend/tv/videogames for being stupid.

What kills me is they keep getting away with it.

And if someone knows the episode please tell me it...Cause I call BS on this one.

. . . Texas isn't exactly know for it's understanding and sensible people. . .
What is it known for then?
Being a low economy state and for having a governor that doesn't know its against the constitution for states to concede.
There's nothing really in the constitution that says an independent state can't secede. As per our admittance into the U.S., we are a free and independent state and are only subject to the constitution. Not that it really matters.

And low economy is an outright lie, our state income is on the same level as India and Canada. Texas makes as much money as either India or Canada. We can do this since we are just like any other state in America except for our large size.
Well yea, its kinda why the South didn't want to join originally, because they couldn't back out. Besides forced. As for the low economy well, pretty much yea, nothing to share there but my own ignorance for listening to my teacher w/o looking that one up.
Yes, the southern states can't back out, but Texas is special. Our state constitution is the only one that says we are a free and independent state. We could make an argument for not listening to the president or congress, but that would only cause problems.
I do wonder though how it would be handled? Guns blazing would make things worse.
It wouldn't be handled well. If Texas were to ever secede, it wouldn't end prettily. If we were unsuccessful, most of Texas would be destroyed and I don't think DC would get off scott free either. If we did succeed, most of Texas and DC would be destroyed and then Texas would struggle to survive on it's own.

Whoever wrote this article needs to do his research. The kangaroo is actually hated in Australia, its like a rat to them....
Its not hated, they just breed to plague numbers and destroy farmland.Which is our own fault really, bringing european farming practices to a land which is basically one big desert.
you just nilled your own argument by proving how much of an annoyance this animal is...

i say again... Australians dislike the kangaroo. oh and some people eat them..
No we don't hate or dislike the Kangaroo. We love them,we have one on our 'Coat of Arms'.

But they do need to be culled in order to prevent farmland destruction and watching them starve to death.

And yes we do eat them and import the meat to other countries.Tastes a bit like venison.

Did the kangaroo get hurt?

If so, no, I'm not offended at all, but an apology should be made and it should never be done again.

If the kangaroo wasn't hurt, get over it. I'm pretty big on animal rights, but this isn't animal abuse here.
Tying a rope around an animal and having someone punch it in the face, numerus times is not animal abuse to you?
I looked for a video of this, and didn't see anything of the sort. If the guys punched the animal, then why didn't the other 49 states of the US catch it and stop it before it got to Texas if it's on tour?

Or we talking about the 1800's boxing? Cause no way in the age of cell phones, Peta and the like would that little stunt happen for that long.
You didn't get the entire video then, i saw the news cast, the man clearly hits the animal in the facial region.

Then as a Texan I'd say smack the guy in the head with a club, cuff him, jail him, fine his ass till he can't buy a soda and put the roo on a plane to be released into the wild. Once again, if they toured the states... Seems Texas was the only one to call it on abuse?

Crap like this needs to be stopped first time, not eight months down the line.

I only heard about it recently and if this sort of shit has been going on for as long they say it has, why come out with this information now and not sooner?

Well read the thread, other than people like to stereo type Texas as full of Yeehaws. The rest of the country tends to have the "Oh it's someone else problem. I bet some will report it. Or I don't want to Tattle" kindergarden mentality. But since people are sad little things, wheres the good comments on how Texas put a stop to this and the other states allowed this crap to happen without so much batting a eyelash. Hell bout the only other places I'd say would call them on it and not be afraid is New York, cause they have the same mentality and California since they would tax the roo ten ways to Sunday just to get out of it's cage.

So people, you insulted Texas so much. Were is the "Oh wait, Texas blew the whistle on a Animal Abusing jackass. Thanks, least someone in the states had balls enough to buck up and say "Hey this shits not right." while all the other states cringed afraid of some law suit or something. Pfft.
