Very true, I also doubt the legitimacy of this article. There were a few grammar errors and it seems like a very one sided story.Fanusc101 said:I'm guessing this isn't the whole part of the story, a large group of police officers don't go off brutalizing people for no good reason.
I'm not opposing the war myself, I am opposing the city's reaction to their display.Smagmuck08 said:Oh, that's nice. People opposing the war in Afganastan, coming from a Marine Corps family, hearing that makes me want punch a hole in the fucking wall in my room. That ***** deserved to be tackled into a light pole. No, you now what? Fuck the people who oppose the war, when americas' men and women are taking rounds from pussies hiding in caves. GOD DAMMIT! Why the hell to idiots like this say stuff like that, oh yeah, that would be smart, let the Taliban win, that would do some FUCKING good. I don't even care if I get probation for this. Fuck the people calling the U.S military facits, fuck the taliban and fuck anyone who opposes freedom in the middle east! AGH!

I have friends that live outside of Rochester, and my girlfriend lives about an hour away near Buffalo, I checked the local news websites and can't find anything on this at all.Chicago Ted said:Ya, I feel that there's something the article's not telling us. To sum it up in 2 paragraphs is not a good idea, hence why I'm asking for another source.Fanusc101 said:I guessing this isn't the whole side of the story, 35 police officers don't go off brutalizing people for no good reason.
Mine's ok, but as I've already stated, Winnipeg is freakishly cold.JRCB said:I will concur. Halifax is a badass place.Wakefield said:No my city is awesome. Its Halifax. You may have heard all about it.

And my city is fairly decent. About as good as the largest city in Canada can get (fucking garbage strike).

I'm gonna join the "this" train here. Police can be brutal sometimes but they don't attack people for no reason.scotth266 said:Indy Media? And their source is... a very unprofessional looking website? Methinks you need a better source before becoming outraged.
Also:
Especially not if the city pre-approved the march.Fanusc101 said:I guessing this isn't the whole side of the story, a large group of police officers don't go off brutalizing people for no good reason.
No, I know her. She had to be taken to the hospital.sneakypenguin said:I'm gonna join the "this" train here. This line cracked me up "One of the arrestees was reported to be bleeding from her face after being tackled by two cops into the the base of a light pole, she is currently sitting in the back of a police car without access to medical attention."
She prolly just hit her nose on the concrete while resisting officers and is just a bit bloody nosed.

The only excuse you've got is your alleged family values. Tone down your nationalism, please, and think for once. Marching into a country, kicking over all of their traditions (no matter how much I might oppose them, and I do - the same way I oppose a lot of traditions and religions in other places) will not bring any so called freedom. This war is an absolute waste of money, the more they push the greater the resistance will be, and good luck fighting against guerrilla warriors - especially when some of the country's innocent native population might start to hate you as well for, again, bursting right in and kicking everything. Things have inertia. Changes, whatever they might be, must be made slowly - if you run in and kick something down, there will be great resistance. Which, I might add, you americans aren't quite successful at overcoming.
So, yeah, the talibans are not such a great threat and they certainly don't deserve so much money wasted on them when other more worthy areas deserve attention - like bloody education and health care, among other things. Although it's fucked up enough as it is, thanks to the whole invasion thing, so it's not going to end well either way.
P.S. And no, emotions do NOT make one's opinion somehow more valid.
Oh, by the way, I'm all for peoples opinions, I just don't like it when some dirt-bag like you, who have never seen a friend come back missing an arm or a leg. People like you need to be tossed out there and live a week with our troops, see how they like it when someone like you bashes them for doing nothing but fallowing orders and fighting to keep their brothers, sons, fathers and mothers from having to face shit like having cars blowing up by the post office when their ten feet away watching thier friend or kids being killed in front of thier eyes. Chew on that!Gormourn said:So overly scared people inspired by tons of flowing propaganda are somehow better then a group of more or less thinking people who might -gasp- have opposing opinions? Whatever... The reason I'm that upset is becuase of what it use to be like just after 9/11. When no one cared what party you belonged to, what race, religon and so on. But this, this, just pisses me off when eight years ago those same people wanted to go in and kick some terrorist ass, now. My god this country is in the hole. Ugh, I just want to see my brother come back from the middle east in one peice.
You need to chill out. My grandfather fought on Iwo Jima, and my uncle did 2 tours in Viet Nam with the Marines. Both of them opposed the war in Iraq, and while my grandfather passed away, my uncle opposes the war in Afghanistan now. We went into Afghanistan for what I think are valid reasons, but when we got over there we didn't know what to do next, thats where we sit now. It's a mess and those marines you love are getting killed because we had no exit strategy. We can't stay there forever, but we can't let the training camps re open. We need to figure that stuff out and then get the hell out of there.Smagmuck08 said:Gormourn said:Freedom? Hah. Hahahah. Ya right.Smagmuck08 said:Oh, that's nice. Boy... You have no idea what size ant hill you just kicked over. If I knew where you lived, you'd be in trouble. DON'T EVER. EVER! DIS ME OR MY FELLOW MARINE SPAWN AGAIN!!!
Please, Please stop flaming people. While I have nothing but the utmost respect for our troops, I would like for you to stop flaming everyone who voices an opinion that conflicts with yours.Smagmuck08 said:Oh, by the way, I'm all for peoples opinions, I just don't like it when some dirt-bag like you, who have never seen a friend come back missing an arm or a leg.
