Yes mine sucks. Maybe not *quite* this bad... But Adelaide, South Australia is a very boring place filled with idiot politicians... I guess it's not that different from anywhere else really.

Trust me, living in Perth is worse, there's even less here and the people are ridiculously thick and oppose any change that will bring us out of the dark ages.

Here's another argument for ya, if you love the troops so much, why do you want them to be dying in a country we have no place in? It's not helping the people there, it's just destablizing it further. Our troops have become cruel to the citizens of the country aswell. One more thing, do you even see other nation's citizens as human? (No, I do not mean to offend, I'm guessing you will be offended because you've been offended by every other tame argument here.)

As for the thread, cops beating on citizens because they are protesting is completely morally incorrect and goes against their rights. For those of you who say they deserved it, do you think people deserve to be beaten and arrested for not agreeing with you? I'm disgusted that our police force is like this still.

I only start a flame war when people bash me, my family, my friends, the USMC, or women. This is no differant, I respect other peoples opinions, but when someone mocks the contry I'm in or me your damn right I'm gonna fight back. That's who I am deal with it or shut up. Hmm I'm not so sure about that, I mean you weren't called a "Backwater town" by the premier of Victoria and the Coach of your A-League team never said you were a "Piss-Ant town" (Not that I care what Aurllio Vidmar says I don't care for the sport). Though at least one of our AFL teams made the Finals I guess thats a plus in our books, I don't support either though (Go Lions!), they both suck (though Crows > Port).

Sorry, it's just my mentality, I'm a fighter, but that's beside the point. There are three generations of milatary personal in my family, and I had just got done watching the news about how two US marines were killed by an IED in Afganastan, and I only got on here to blow off some steam and when I read this thread I just got angerier, which is the reason my first post is so vulgar, but when that person; Gorourn mocked me, I went off. Yeah it was a stupid thing to fight back with no evidance, I won't hide from that. I am an extremly patriotic person, that's how I was raised, so of course I'm going to blindly defend something I was raised to love. I'm sure you'd do the same, and FYI I'm ending this flame war now. No more arguments from me on this thread. Done.

My city saw it's fair share of protests around election time because we were going to have a visit from John McCain on our schools parking lot. It was peaceful and nothing went wrong. For the most part, our cops aren't short tempered enough to resort to police brutality. That probably has something to do with most of them being god damn masters of persuasion.

The only excuse you've got is your alleged family values. Tone down your nationalism, please, and think for once. Marching into a country, kicking over all of their traditions (no matter how much I might oppose them, and I do - the same way I oppose a lot of traditions and religions in other places) will not bring any so called freedom. This war is an absolute waste of money, the more they push the greater the resistance will be, and good luck fighting against guerrilla warriors - especially when some of the country's innocent native population might start to hate you as well for, again, bursting right in and kicking everything. Things have inertia. Changes, whatever they might be, must be made slowly - if you run in and kick something down, there will be great resistance. Which, I might add, you americans aren't quite successful at overcoming.

So, yeah, the talibans are not such a great threat and they certainly don't deserve so much money wasted on them when other more worthy areas deserve attention - like bloody education and health care, among other things. Although it's fucked up enough as it is, thanks to the whole invasion thing, so it's not going to end well either way.
