You know. You can oppose the war but still support the troops.

Whatever... The reason I'm that upset is becuase of what it use to be like just after 9/11. When no one cared what party you belonged to, what race, religon and so on. But this, this, just pisses me off when eight years ago those same people wanted to go in and kick some terrorist ass, now. My god this country is in the hole. Ugh, I just want to see my brother come back from the middle east in one peice.
So overly scared people inspired by tons of flowing propaganda are somehow better then a group of more or less thinking people who might -gasp- have opposing opinions? Freedom, yeah. Look at yourself.
Oh, by the way, I'm all for peoples opinions, I just don't like it when some dirt-bag like you, who have never seen a friend come back missing an arm or a leg. People like you need to be tossed out there and live a week with our troops, see how they like it when someone like you bashes them for doing nothing but fallowing orders and fighting to keep their brothers, sons, fathers and mothers from having to face shit like having cars blowing up by the post office when their ten feet away watching thier friend or kids being killed in front of thier eye. Chew on that!
Please, Please stop flaming people. While I have nothing but the utmost respect for our troops, I would like for you to stop flaming everyone who voices an opinion that conflicts with yours.

You have a point, a family friend of mine came home last week, he was missing both his legs, we both locked eyes and he had the look that said "It was worth it." Hereing idiots bash people like him just gets me fired up, I'm sorry escapist community, but I can't respect people who oppose something that, if we wern't there many innocent people would be dead. This shit's turning into 'nam era USA every fucking day. By, the way, Gorourn... Drop dead. There I'm done.

Nah, never anything like that around here.
The police have real things to be doing around here.

Funny thing is, the terrorists are being created is response to perceived foreign aggression.
Maybe if most of the soldiers were not really there to secure oil resources and the locals didn't have to play for Monsanto GM versions of their local crops, seeds for which are conveniently located, though "not found in" one of the first buildings stormed by American troops, things would be easier for the soldiers.

Of course, they'd have an easier time then because they wouldn't be in a country the corporations didn't want to exploit...

Again, emotions. And assumptions. What's "having a friend come back missing an arm or a leg" has to do with the validity of the so called "war" that I assume we're discussing? Yes, people get hurt in a war. So do people who aren't in a war, like policemen and firemen. And even factory workers. And yes, it'd suck if you were their relative. But it doesn't make your opinion more valid.

Just because someone "faces shit all the time" doesn't make them superior. Sure, we can all talk about how "heroic" soldiers are - because of our shit values developed from who knows what ages. I'd say that a businessman making a hard decision that WILL affect thousands of people, either working in the company or just people, is as much of a hero. A doctor is a hero. A worker is a hero.

You know nothing about me or anyone else. Actually neutrally look at what war is and what it's effects might be - and how overly beneficial they can be in this case first - but whatever, you won't. Chew on your nationalism and propaganda and live your lie.

Alright that's it. Fuck you, fuck your family and fuck your mom sideways with a rusty knife, you basterd. I've respected opinions like your long enough, as soon as I'm out of high school I'm enlisting. *cough* sociolist pig *cough*

A few years ago My city refused a gay pride parade, then a week later the city allowed a Neo-Nazi march to take place.

I was checking out the citations for the article and it appears to be linked to a politician named Harry Davis. Not a big deal; it looks like a mayoral election thing, but both articles cite each other for the report. Kinda weird IMO.

its really weird, its like if your protesting for peace then its like a call for these asshats to attack but if your protesting something stupid like thoes teabagger dicks then you never get the beating you so richly deserve
i liked this.

Depending on the attitude of the local police they could have just been looking for a reason to start a beat down. If there is one thing cops, tend to hate, its people protesting war and violence.

PS. if there were hippies there then i am on the cop's side.

wow, your strange and pointless anger is actually kind of funny. I like how you really stuck it to him at the end with more internet rage.

No, my city (Saskatoon) isn't as bad as that. Nor is my hometown (Windsor, ON), but Windsor had its moments. The WTO protesting (or whatever initials they were) a decade ago had a few arrests and the recent city workers strike led to plenty of violent acts, but nothing ever got reeeally out of hand.

EDIT:

yeah. my town. Detroit. /thread.
Agreed. /thread

You know, I hope your city cleans itself up someday. Us Windsorites are tired of you guys and your antics. This isn't to say that Detroit is *all* bad, most of the people I've met in that town are great people, but there is a lot of ugly sh-t happening there on a regular basis.

Hmm, I was wondering why your against the war.
You mind not starting a flamewar and rather, post a viable argument. All you've been doing is stating things with no evidence or good examples. Here's another argument for ya, if you love the troops so much, why do you want them to be dying in a country we have no place in? It's not helping the people there, it's just destablizing it further. Our troops have become cruel to the citizens of the country aswell. One more thing, do you even see other nation's citizens as human? (No, I do not mean to offend, I'm guessing you will be offended because you've been offended by every other tame argument here.)

Who's "They"?

As for the thread, cops beating on citizens because they are protesting is completely morally incorrect and goes against their rights. For those of you who say they deserved it, do you think people deserve to be beaten and arrested for not agreeing with you? I'm disgusted that our police force is like this still.

You just made this entire post irrelevant.

But, I'll try and stay on topic. I've seen worse in my city. Let me just say, things would be ALOT easier if we had fire extinguishers where I live.

I only start a flame war when people bash me, my family, my friends, the USMC, or women. This is no differant, I respect other peoples opinions, but when someone mocks the contry I'm in or me your damn right I'm gonna fight back. That's who I am deal with it or shut up. I didn't want to start the flame war in the first place, but he apparently dosn't like right wing people who support the war and that's on him. I just want this flame war to end as much as you.
