I just watched this trailer and thought has anybody else heard about this.

It's a new horror film from Guillermo Del Toro.

Thoughts? Criticism? Has this been done already?

EDIT: It looks alright. Not entirely sure, though.

EDIT 2: It's only presented by him, not directed.

I prefer cosmic over slasher.

Unfortunately, the former are few and far between.

I hate horror films. Generally, they're not scary. They make you jump, but hell, I'm moderately paranoid, and most modern horror movies don't phase me in the slightest.

Movies like Psycho however cause my floor to be wet whenever I shower, as I no longer use shower curtains, and I now have an irrational fear of stairs.
Stairs? Care to explain. I'm sorry, but, I'm one of the few that hasn't seen the original Psycho.

Awww.............not even a tiny bit?
No, like, not at all. I'd rather have my sense of awe or love or hope or some other mentally relevant feeling stimulated by a movie/game/book.

The Cop who comes to investigate after the girl goes missing gets stabbed in the face when climbing up the stairs. As I recall, what you see is the Psycho coming around the corner with a knife, and then the cop hitting the ground at the bottom of the stairwell with a gash in his forehead.

Really, it's not even the murders that are the scary part in it, but them combined with the rest of the movie are great paranoia fuel.
I'm somewhat intrigued now.

I have a challenge for you.
And everyone.

Watch Marble Hornets [http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=marble+hornets&aq=f]

If you don't find that scary, may the Slender Man fabricate to reality and scar you for life.

Why do people like being scared? Last horror movie I saw was White Noise and it wasn't bad but I can't watch this stuff.

I watch them out of sheer boredom. I've never really liked those horror films that are supposedly true. Most others, I kinda like. The zombie/monster flicks. But, honestly, I enjoy some good comedy, action, or thriller flicks.

Aww....lucky. Even though I've never played an RTS in my life, Starcraft looks interesting.

Horror films are scary!
The whole point of the movie is to instill fear, which I don't find entertaining. And if they don't, then the movie is just stupid, which is even worse.
