and DA:O isnt that in depth (The Great Wall of China of text and wording) and no real negative impact on "Hey,f*** you" or "Here is 5 silver" (ok so I cant screw the rogue, the templar, the witch, or the bi elf) but come on....its a wall of text and a lot of blood....
There's more to it than that in my opinion. The environments are stunning (especially the underground cities) the story isn't quite as predictable as I though it would be and the characters in your party are very varied and interesting. To be honest, I think it might be better than oblivion in some ways. Sure you can't move as freely and have houses etc but that's a nice price to pay for what you are getting. But of course that's just what I think.

I was addicted to games overall for a couple of years which really caused my grades to suffer and destroyed two relationships I had, but hey its been getting better every day.

Wow, I can't tell you how many times I've played through Mass Effect by bioware. That game is MASSIVE, I heard they are integrating the player choices with the sequel, so choices you make in the first game will carry over into the next. They leaves open an entirely too mammoth labyrinth for people with too much time (like me) to explore! Darn them! And I haven't even got started on dragon age yet.

Problem:

The game was like Fable
Follow the linear path and watch out for Mr.90s good old inviso walls

Well, it wasn't THAT linear and I wouldn't compare it to fable for reasons I mentioned above (plus it didn't have stupid a plot with actions no player would make, ie: not getting revenge on a guy who did you wrong). Anyways, since gameplay is your problem then oblivion or morrowind is best suited for you.

I'm still on the fence with Dragon Age Origins PC ver. I dunno what it's like even after a few videos, I'm going to guess that it's like Mass Effect(duh) and Diablo, but I have no bloody idea.

Everyone I talk to to say something positive about it, the next person says something negative and a big fat "don't bother it's not worth it, especially if you've played Mass Effect".

NO, si-fi RPG the third person shooter thing is crap, you spend as much time i diolouge as you do fighting, if not more. the combat is the worst (not by any means bad) part of the game. and stats, equipment and weapons have more effect on combat than actual skill.
the game is worth it for just the story line.

Haha. I bought Assassin's Creed 2 when it came out since I'd preordered it. Only...I can't stop myself from playing DA:O long enough to play AC2. Every time I turn my console on, I think I'll just play until I beat this level, then I'll play something new. 4 hours later and I'm still playing Dragon Age. But you know what...I love it when a game makes me feel this way.

Baldur's Gate did that for me.
I freaking love that game.
I never relised why that game is so popular. All i've played is a GBA version which i did not like much. Why is it so good?
No no no, don't touch any Baldur's Gate that isn't on the PC.
The PC version is the game to play. A tactical RPG with a phenomenal story. The Baldur's GAte Saga (On the PC, remember) is, to me, the best RPG series ever, and the best games I've played. Ever since I bought it in '97, it has always been installed on my computer. If I got a new computer? It's the first thing installed. Always.
Great games, fantastic RPGs. That's how my love for Bioware came about.
Too true. tried playing Dark alliance on PS2 and it almost killed the series for me. but I love it and every bioware PC RPG I played since. Roll on TOR and the end of my career

No, I am not joking. I blame this game and this game ALONE for ruining my life.

Let me explain. I am/was very happy with myself, I have a great girlfriend, good grades and I'm in shape. Everything was going fine, BUT THEN! Dragon Age: Origins came as a bomb into my life killing every thing close to a social life with in a 10 mile radius.

I just can't stop playing it, it's ridiculous. So right now I'm hoping that I will be able to stay away from the game long enough for my girlfriend and grades to recover.

So, have anyone else had a similar experience with this game? Or any other game for that matter.

EDIT: Before you post, ask your self; Is this guy serious? Should I take this seriously?

No, no you should not.
To hell with people and education. They don't understand you. Games do.

It'd be the same, only your party members won't be as intelligent, as they aren't you.

EDIT: Just making sure, this is not serious, ofcourse it won't be the same.
