No, I am not joking. I blame this game and this game ALONE for ruining my life.

Let me explain. I am/was very happy with myself, I have a great girlfriend, good grades and I'm in shape. Everything was going fine, BUT THEN! Dragon Age: Origins came as a bomb into my life killing every thing close to a social life with in a 10 mile radius.

I just can't stop playing it, it's ridiculous. So right now I'm hoping that I will be able to stay away from the game long enough for my girlfriend and grades to recover.

So, have anyone else had a similar experience with this game? Or any other game for that matter.

EDIT: Before you post, ask your self; Is this guy serious? Should I take this seriously?

No, no you should not.
Oddly my reaction was about the oposite. I was worried about that possibility but, it ends up, my GF's spent more time playing it than I have. Though picking up Saints Row 2 may have been a mistake on my part. :p

If Bioware are able to create this level of addiction in an offline single player RPG, then what's gonna happen when The Old Republic goes live??!!
We must remain vigilant and safeguard our children and women-folk from this dastardly game and the Old Republic. TO THE ARMORY!!!

BTW, I love your avatar picture there.

... Okay, now this is just f*cking confusing!

Either you are joking or you arent... if you start a sentence with "No, I am not joking." then you are not allowed to come back in the way you did in your edit!

morrigan-chan is the love of my life~~
I gotta hand it to Bioware. Whoever wrote Morrigans lines must have been a woman herself. Because she's the most accurate image of a woman's personality ive ever seen in a game. And her sarcasm is downright legendary. Put her in your group with Alistair and she's a riot.

Leliana though, I have a weak spot for petite redheads with French accents. o_O;

I watch these threads with great humour, you people fail for not seeing this obvious ploy.

I hang my head in shame when I see how hard everyone fails ITT. Really, did all of you think I was serious?

Please...
Without your edit in the OP, yeah, I would have taken you at face value. There are people who's lives get derailed over shit like this, and given that this is one of the risks of this hobby, yeah, you'd have had genuine sympathy from me. Hell, I actually know someone who had something similar happen to them a few years back.

Is it funny to make light of it? Hell if I can tell. I thought your OP was ammusing.

240 hours for me in fallout :(
I hear you. Fallout 3 stole a great big chunk of my life but hey, I loved every minute.
I burned probably 500 hours on that game total. I only had 3 characters that made it to the 100 hour mark, but I spent a lot of time working in the toolset.

Yeah, 'wasted' is almost the wrong word for time spent doing something that gives you so much fun and pleasure.

Hell, it keeps me from the drink so that's good.

The incompatibility of computers and nicotine does give my lungs reasons to rejoice.

Well... that and my inability to find my cigerettes for the last couple of weeks... >.>
