Allister nodded towards the Warden and entered his room. Once the door closed, he immediately searched the entire room for Assassins or Poison. Finding none, he relaxed a bit and made preparations. He pulled out his knife and cut his hand with it, drawing blood. After a few seconds, he wiped his hand on the Door frame. After saying a few words in blood magic, he created the spell that would keep guard over the door. Anyone who would enter the room would wish that the spell killed them first before Allister would get to them.
The Bloodmage sighed How long has it been? A day? A day and a half from when I last entered my Lab? Again, the world proves that Change never Changes. Things will always move, and spin, and transform. What matters is that we manipulate the Change into something beneficial. That I have done. I will become a Warden, or Die, and becoming a warden is already a kind of death I believe. That.....Presence in their blood. It is not natural. It seems to have been.....injected into their bloodstream. If my Hypothesis is true, we will simply be living on borrowed time. Our Lifespans cut in half. If we're lucky......I certainly hope the payoff from that sacrifice is worth it.
He focused his eyes on his staff. A fine staff it was. It had assisted him in his Quests and Spells for over 5 years now. He chuckled at the memory of how he got it. I wonder if those fools at the Circle are STILL looking around for it. Probably not, though there are probably still some fool Magi trying to hunt me down. He placed his staff on the chair near his bed. The Staff magically rightened itself to a leaning position on the chair, It's red light dimming. Allister closed his eyes as he started to meditate.

Allister's mind looked back in time. He still remembered it, even after all these years. He entered the Barn and asked 'Brother where are you? No reply. NO get out of there you fool! He entered, slowly creeping, believing something was wrong but not knowing what it was RUN! run as fast as you can! You're brother is GONE! DEAD! Still he continued. He started hearing a sound akin of a man drowning. A man's last breath before succumbing to poison. Leave. Leave NOW. You do not need to see this. He found his brother, lying in a fetal Position, lying in the Shit and Piss of the Barn Animals. No...don't go... He touched his brother's shoulder and asked 'Brother? are you all right?' His brother looked at him. His eyes empty, his skin rotting, his meat showing. His brother smiled.
Allister suppressed a scream as he woke up from his meditation. What came out instead what a High pitched wine. He vainly suppressed his tears and tried to limit his sobs to within the room. He started muttering "If I was stronger......he could....have been saved......I was weak....I was his elder brother DAMN IT." The room shook with power at his pronouncement. But the Staff on his chair suppressed the Magical discharge to only those who could hear it. He continued "If i had been as STRONG as I am NOW, he wouldn't have DIED. If i had this power, he wouldn't have done the things he did. Everyone would STILL BE ALIVE! My Parents. My Siblings. ALL OF THEM WOULD STILL BE ALIVE!" The rooms started to shake with Magical Energy. The Objects within twisting into unnatural shapes. But outside, the Warden tasked with guarding the floor the recruits were in could hear nothing. The Bloodmage suppressed anymore signs of emotion and, after 30 minutes, chuckled at himself. Sharp as steel, mocking himself at his weakness. THAT the guard could hear, albeit subconsciously due to the Bloodmage's Staff suppressing It's owner's mental breakdown, making sure it did not leave the room. He shivered with dread, and he didn't know why.
"Stupid little Idiot. What are you, some overemotional teenager? They are dead. Gone. They have no more pull in your Life. They no longer matter." He said to himself. Convincing himself that it should no longer affect him. Still, when he fell asleep, he wept until he fell into an uneasy sleep.
