"I suppose it was the Bloodmage on one of his power trips again" Neria replied, contempt heavy in her voice when she spoke bloodmage.

"He will not catch me unawares again, don't you fret sister" she said as she gave Ashalle a warm smile, she was surprised at herself that she even meant a small part of the smile. She was also pleased to spot the other Wardens' concerned glances towards her, the plan had worked and she was even more in their favour.

How she would love to hurl her shield at him and watch as his torso separates from his legs and lands by his feet, or atleast cause that apple to combust, it would be so easy, just one flick of the wrist and..... No, she would control herself lest the image of her being the innocent victim would shatter and her mission would be harder.

However all the flirting and being the victim in the world would still not tear down the emotional bulkheads of her prey, she would have to become a Warden if she was to get close to them and use them for her own ends. If it must be it must be.

Indeed. I was thinking of the best way of Allister figuring out more from Neria without compromising his character. I believe I succeeded in that.
You know what? I thing that I'm gonna make Allister annoy Neria in the near future by subtly asking her if she's Tsundere for him. God the sparks from THAT will be awesome.

Allister saw The High Warden approaching and smiled inwardly to himself Right. Time to see if the scenario is in place. He finished up his apple and disposed of it with judicious use of magical abilities. He then stood up and greeted the Warden.

Allister took a breath and said "Greetings High Warden. Is there something you require?"

Worst Case Scenario possibility detected. Warden attempts vertical slash from the sword at his Hilt. I pull back and slash my wrist at the warden, exposing him to my blood, 2 paths from there, Resistance or Submission. Resistance, Warden's blood boils from within. Stun with secondary blade to the nearest vulnerable body part nearby. I activate my Magic to create a Wall of fire with the Warden in the Middle. Wardens guarding the door behind me will have likely moved to me by then. I cast the same spell to them. Regardless of affects, I slash their necks and use their blood to blow a hole through the Castle Walls. Remainder Magical energies used to steady my descent into the forest. Submission. Warden's body accepts the Blood Magic and becomes a puppet. Use him to fight Nearby opponents with Physical strength. Use same escape technique as in Resistance option. Worst Case Scenario secured.

Second Worst Scenario........

"Allister, i know you do not care for Neria... but while you are under the wardens protection here i suggest you leaver her be. Or at least annoy her as little as possible while other Wardens are around." Jason said, watching the recruit eye him suspiciously, as if thinking of a strategy.

"I have no wish to fight my subordinates, but if you continue assaulting her i will have no choice." Jason said, leaving Allister to consider his words.

Allister nodded Good. Worst Case Scenario has not come to pass. An opportunity though. I will say words of Logic to the Warden. Either way, it will assist me. If he is enthralled, then my words will poison him. If not, then the opportunities will simply flourish.

Allister spoke "I apologize then Grey Warden. But do you not find it strange? That a Person strong enough in both Combat AND Magical Arts simply fail to stop a Fruit coming at them at a reasonable combat worthy rate? That a trained Warrior of both Martial and Magical Arts would raise her voice, scream 'How dare You!' and do nothing? As if she was a pampered Princess?"

Allister looked at the Warden, the Bloodmage's Yellow eyes staring without fear to the Warden's Crimson eyes "Do you not find any of that suspicious at all? In my humble opinion, I believe that the Archon Magus is attempting to manipulate the Wardens. I personally, simply wish to find out How and Why. You're Warriors are already dangerously enamored with her. Each of these alone are not particularly noteworthy I admit, but together it paints a most suspicious attitude does it Grey Warden?"

 

[Sir Strange Of The House Lycan]

When he felt he was waking,Sevink hugged the individual parts of his mind,before allowing himself to awake.He was told by the guard to go down to the court yard for a special meeting,the man looked at him with disgust.When he was down speaking Sevink picked him up by the throat and smashed him into a wall before proceeding to walk down stairs to the court yard,whistling as he did.He watched Allister throw the apple at Neria and almost snarled,Allister falling into disfavour with him.He waited the return of Jason as he took Allister away and sat down.He began to whistle a strange tune as he cleaned his sword and gauntlets.

I should speak to Neria later,find out more about her.Might be useful,must talk to Allister as well,seems like a nice guy,apart from attacks on Neria.Laurence needs to understand I'm not a COMPLETE monster.Might talk to Ashalle,***** though she might be, convince her the same as Laurence if I can.

"Allister, we shall talk of this later, for i too have noticed what you say. Meet me in my quarters after the joining and we shall speak freely." Jason whispered so none of the other wardens could hear.

Allister bowed slightly "Indeed my Lord. I will do as you say" The Bloodmage excused himself as he returned to his place below the Apple tree.
Allister pulled up his hood and grabbed hold of one of his spell books. He then began to read the spells and commit them to memory.

Though no one could see it, Allister was smiling victoriously under his hood. I believe I have the upper hand now Archon Magus. It will only be a matter of time before whatever threat you have over me will be Silenced

After arriving in the courtyard, Laurence spotted the apple tree.

Seeing Jason he called "I you need me my Liege, I am at the apple tree getting apple's"

After walking to one of the carts parked in the courtyard he had spotted in the evening, he got some rope. Tying the rope to a piece of wood, Laurence started throwing the piece of wood up in to the tree till it stuck and also trying not to hit Allister. Using the rope, Laurence started climbing up in to the tree.

I am basing this on the assumption that the apple tree is a old one and has grow quite tall.
Sir Strange@ I love that notion that Sevink will try to let Laurence understand that he isn't a complete monster

The 'normal human' remained ever silent in the yard. If it wasn't for him eating the apple he had acquired earlier he wouldn't have been noticed. A bard always must remain in the background, minded yes but not noticed. He remained a footnote in everyone's mind. The forger of alliances with the blood mage, a generous man to the ever hungry reaver, a fellow bard to Laurence, a minor threat compared to Allister from Neria's view, the only one he could perhaps be on equal terms with was Ashalle, but she was too blinded by simple tasks and to short sighted to see the ever growing problems. A regular blade was still sharp and ever deadly as those enchanted or forged with greater materials. "So what is our task Lord Jason?" He asked finishing the apple and dropping it. Stepping over it with a heavy boot his black coat and light skin made him appear like a wraith in the morning light.

"Well, it appears everyone is here now so let us begin. Your task today is going to be dangerous, i will not lie to you. You must all go into the wilds and return with three vials of Darkspawn blood. Do this and your recruitment will be complete, except for the joining of course." Jason told the group, making sure all the other recruits around the courtyard could hear this as well.

"No horses will be allowed for this task, and you will all be leaving immediately. I will accompany you so no casualties occur before your joining."

"I will give you a half-an-hour preparation period, but at the end of that time you will all need to meet me down at the docks. Anyone who is late will not partake in the joining ritual tonight." Jason said, eying Neria when he said this.

With his speech done, he dismissed the crowd and walked out the castle gate and sat down on a rocky outcropping that was situated right outside the castle gate so it was nearly impossible to bring siege weapons to the castle's gates. The other recruits swiftly walked down to the boat and began sparring down at the docks in preparations for today's task.

What i mean is by the other recruits i mean three other NPC's that i have thrown into the story. You can interact with them, as long as you don't kill them, and have them re-act however you like. The only thing you cannot make for them are names. Below i have written very brief character sheets for them.
They will not be main characters, just people i have thrown in for something later on in the story.

After getting some apple's, Laurence decide to already head towards the docks seeing as he already had everything he needed.

Seeing Jason sitting on the rocky outcropping, Laurence decided to see if he could learn more about the darkspawn and maybe the joining.

"My liege, would you mind telling me more about the Darkspawm. I sadly know very little about them, seeing as I have lived for the most time near the city of Denerim and some off the place near there. I only know rumours about them and what you told my yesterday, that there a very dangerous foe. I hope you can tell me more. Oooh and would you want a apple?" Laurence asked Jason

"Thank you Laurence... please sit beside me, for telling you about Darkspawn will take some time." Jason said, taking the apple and biting into it.

"Where to begin... The Darkspawn are said to have been created by Mages who invaded Heaven. The Maker cast themselves down, the hearts corrupted and Heaven destroyed. These were the first Darkspawn. We were not the first order of Wardens though... there was another smaller force before us, consisting of man and women from all different races. They fought the Darkspawn fiercly, but could not win with the numbers they had. They instead created a ritual known as The Joining. The Joining is a ritual in which the partaker must drink the blood of a Darkspawn. The Warden is then, infused with the Darkspawn taint, making him ten times more effective in fighting Darkspawn. The Wardens have the ability to sense the Darkspawn taint, and when they first join, have vivid dreams of Darkspawn. As you grow more accustomed to the taint, you can learn to block out these dreams, if you so choose... i myself find them interesting and have not blocked them out even though i posses the skill to do so."

Jason took another bite of his apple and sighed, gazing down at the docks. He was not supposed to tell recruits of the Joining, but Laurence seemed trustworthy enough.

"You must not tell the others what i have told you. Promise me this, they cannot find out. I was not supposed to speak of it to recruits yet i did. Do not make me regret this decision. That being said, is there anything else you need to know, or are you ready to head down to the docks?"

This was my last post until i get some sleep. Its 2:00am where i live and i need some sleep. Just talk amongst yourselves and continue down to the docks, the quest will begin when i wake up tomorrow.

Good night then, I my self just woke up.

So that's what the joining is. That's why the task is to get Darkspawn blood. Allister is going to love this, I think.

"I will, I am not know to tell everyone what I learn. It can be dangerous in my line off work."Plus it is hand as a bargaining chip when needed.Laurence told Jason.
"So are there different kind of Darkspawn I should know about. Some which should be taken out before the rest? Laurence asked Jason, while he takes some meat out of his back bag and starts eating it.

Allister heard the High Warden's proclamation and glared at Jason Interesting. Vials of Darkspawn Blood. That almost completely confirms my suspicions.....Still, I find it hard to believe that we would be ingesting it into our Bloodstream. Still, I'll wait, for now.

Allister stood and went closer to the Gate, not needing anything else for the journey, he mentally counted down to 30 minutes.

Whilst calm, warm and inviting on the outside, inside Neria's mind was racing.

'What was that look? He suspects me! Well Allister two can play that game! And di...Did I just hear, drink Darkspawn blood? That would explain the edge that Wardens have over regular soldiers but seriously? I'm going to have to tread carefully'

The whelp suspected her, that much was clear and Allister was most likely pulling the strings. Well if need be she would have to take drastic measures. The previous eve over dinner Neria had heard slight murmurs of discontent among the senior Wardens. A mere child led then! If things turned ugly she would have to use them to her advantage and possibly place someone more 'agreeable' in charge.

As she walked down towards the docks, she sidled up to Sevink. He was her greatest asset at the moment and very, very important to her success with the Wardens. If worst came to worst however she realised the Wardens we not critical to her success and her goals could be achieved without them, not as easily mind but easier than it would be if she was imprisoned... Or worse.

"So we are to battle Darkspawn today, looking forward to it master Sevink?"

Oooh its on now, looking forward to slaughtering some Spawn and manipulating some more.

@Pyro: Just tell me if I'm going overboard with the generic Wardens, even though (to me at least) it would seem logical for there to be disquiet in the ranks, I don't want to ruin any plans or anyone else's enjoyment by godmodding etc

P.s If things go badly for Neria could she stay in as an antagonist?
