The story's been over for a long long time. It already has its place in the annals of legend.

Because the episode limit hit over 9000...I know that joke is old but anyway the show just hit it's limit there's really no better explanation. Although I could see them trying to start the series again they are in the sell out phase of owning a franchise. But I never watched the show so I'm not sure I know for sure why it stopped.
Over 9000!!!!!!haha
I love how people use this quote. Anyways, I do miss DragonBall Z. Think I will have to re-watch all the episodes.

Im with you.

I rank DBZ right up there with the mighty morphin power rangers.
But MMPR was awsome :X
It was targeting your age group, so I can understand why you might be so disillusioned to believe so.
Seeing as I was 5 or 6 when it came out, offcourse I found it awsome, I wouldnt watch either now but I loved them when they just came out in the netherlands.
Absolutely. for comparison, I think Thundercats are just the bee's knees. Mumra would have eaten them all for breakfast.

Just so everyone knows there is also 35 minute special made in September 2008 called "Yo! Son Goku and His Friends Return!!" that takes place two years after the defeat of Majin Buu, where Vegeta's younger brother Tarble and his wife Gure need help in dealing with two character named Abo and Cado. Plus there are still plenty of DBZ games being made for the 360 and PS3.

The series was decent, but it's over now. Rumor has it that the creator wanted to end the series multiple times, but was pressured by the company to keep producing episodes because it was so damn popular (your reasoning, right? It really doesn't help him much). He got tired of it, and they pretty much made GT without him.
Goku becomes Super Saiyan, pretty much the pinnacle of power. Frieza, the most evil person in the universe is defeated. He can go home, show's over. (but they don't want it to end. "Make more episodes!)
Goku goes home, Frieza gets killed for real this time, the androids come (and by extension Cell). It ends with Gohan being stronger than Goku by reaching SS2, while Goku is dead and chooses to stay dead so no more super monsters attack earth. Series over (but it's not enough. They're still making money)
Finally, the Buu arc. Buu goes through 3 forms, gets beaten by Gotenks (then eats him), and super powered Gohan (then eats him too), Vegito (and eats him too) and kills everyone on Earth minus Hercule. Goku fights him in the afterlife as SS3, Vegeta swaps, Goku swaps back, Spirit Bomb, show's over. The creator said screw it for anything after that. Did you notice the pattern too? For every new arc, we have to break out a new Super Saiyan form. It'll quickly become a joke if it goes too far. GT gave us SS4 Goku at the end of the Baby arc, then SS4 Vegeta at the end of the Dark Dragon arc and a fusion between them. Show's over, seriously.

Budokai 3 kicked ass if it had online multiplayer it would be one of my favorite fighter games ever. You hear that Dimps? remake it!

I remember once counting the infamous "the planet will die in 5 minutes" of the anime.... it lasted over 12 episodes.
Actually I also enjoyed one of the dbz fighting games... I can't remember which one though, it was one where you could freely fly around during the fights if that helps.

The Tenkaichi Budokai series. SPARKING in Japan. Budokai 3 wasn't bad either.

Wasn't there a Budoki (Or however you spell it) game that was actually pretty good? Or am I thinking of another series?
Yeah, I found Budokai 2 to be a rather enjoyable fighting game.

I don't consider GT cannon, but even if it was, both DBZ and GT end with the world being saved and nothing left for the heroes to do. And in the GT ending, Goku doesn't die, but he isn't readily available for any action. Point being, I like the DBZ ending.

And no Dragon Ball Kai is not a continuation of the already existing DB storyline. It is essentially DBZ the way it was meant to be, meaning no Cell or Buu sagas, and the fights and powerups are not hours long. It is the manga placed into episodes.

I think the show should have ended with the Cell saga, but no, they had to make the Buu saga and GT. The Buu saga wasn't bad, it was just drawn out too far. Gt sucked. SSJ4 is not real in my opinion. SSJ3 is the strongest super saiyan form. No bull from GT.

That's a great show. Especially if your into all sorts of martial arts like my friends and I.
I used to work out while watching it. However it went on for a really really long time. I bet if you got the entire series and watched a couple of episodes a day, by the time you got to the end of it you would only vaguely remember the beginning and you can start again.

Dragonball 'Z' was good, everything after that kinda sucked. But hey, it's anime. It was to be expected. I'd say watch those good old episodes again, makes you feel nostalgic.
this has nothing to do with the topic, but yours will be the drill that pierces the heavens.
