Easily one of the most misunderstood bands ever. People generally right them off for always sounding the same in all they're songs or for their lyrics. But it seems to me no one pays any attention to their greatest qualities.

I personally enjoy DragonForce because they there are many layers of melody, harmony, and rhythm parts in their songs. Second in today's music industry when writing new material 90% of bands copy and paste what's popular. DragonForce on the other hand marches to the beat of their own drum, there's no other band like them.

And don't even try the "All their songs sound the same" argument here. If that's what you think listen to Heartbreak Armageddon, then My Spirit Will Go On, then Dawn Over a New World.

Also try to keep the hate to a minimum. I'm not trying to blast you for not liking them but simply being the one to step forward and say I like DragonForce.

I just don't like that kind of music. I feel that their band is based around their guitarist, and it gets old after a while, anyways.

Dragonforce are alright, but the just can't find the catchy and epic melody of Metallica (Old Metallica only), Megadeth or any of the best bands.

They play too fast with no style or substance.
The vocalist annoys me.
They suck out of studio, seriously.
I generally dislike their music, but each to their own I guess..

Some girl who works at a gas station I frequent told me about them. Haven't cared enough to give them a listen. Maybe if their name didn't sound like a bad anime show...

Fallacy!
If one melodic line, one guy strumming power chords, and a keyboardist playing scales really fast is complex, then I'm the queen of France. (Almost forgot to add in that they use a drum machine here.)

Dragonforce is part of a relatively large genre called Power Metal, and there are veritable legions of bands that do it better.

Good for you.
Go listen to Blind Guardian

I was into dragonforce in a big way about a year back and the reason for stopping WAS because i noticed the repetitiveness building. It wasnt that they were bad they just got.... old. I tried to defend them for a while but it just kinda fell apart.

If you think they suck out of studio your probably watching old videos of live performances. They were always drunk at their older performances. Watch anything after the release of Ultra Beatdown, they've really cleaned up their act.

Meh, I'm not fussed about DragonForce. I like their lyrical work, sounds very epic, and, yes, I'll admit that their harmonies and melodies are both very harmonic and melodic, but the constant battering of extra-long songs with similar amounts of twiddly bits means they all just blend together eventually.

Hmm, I'm not convinced. I went to a concert on the Ultra Beatdown tour because my friend had a spare ticket, and they were still drunk, all out of time and abusive to the crowd.

I don't know, maybe it was a one off and they have cleaned up their act, which would be good to hear, but their performance at the show I saw was awful.

I'm well aware of the existence of other power metal bands, but their is no other band that has that sounds quite like them

I like them. It's sad that they're mostly a studio band, as all they're techno-wizardry and fast playing means they can easily get out of time with one another live.
