I think I can recommend a fairly decent assortment of items:
Beer: Guinness or any hefeweizen or it's dark cousin dunkelweize
Vodka: Monopolowa is very smooth and tastes great, it's also quite cheap for a spirit. Also it's actually made from potatoes, unlike most big name stuff.
Whiskey: I haven't had much but I do recommend either Jameson or Bushmills.
Bourbon: Maker's Mark, smells of honey and has a slight vanilla after-taste.
Liqueur: They're all good in my book, but if I had to choose just one, Frangelico all the way.
Gin: Bombay
Tequila: Jose Cuervo Especial, sweet with a slight afer-taste of spice.
Other: Hard cider is a must try in my book, strongbow being the best. Mead is also a great thing to have around, especially around the holidays, goes great with any feast.
Wine: I rarely drink it and know nearly nothing about it, but I do recommend trying to find a good Spätlese.
