Favourite: RPGs and puzzle games.

Least favourite: FPSs, only because I'm not very good at them. I enjoy playing them with friends and a campaign here and there but I can be embarrassingly bad some of the time.

Well, my favorite genre is RPG. But, I love platformers, action/adventures, actually you know what? I can probably find at least one game in each genre I like, so I guess I don't really have anywhere to go with this...

I like open world Western RPGs, games with zombies, the occasional shooter and other odd games like Mirror's Edge or Alan Wake.

Sports and Racing games can go hang themselves.

I like all genres except for JRPGs. I just don't understand them or like them. I tried to get into FFIV, I tried to get into FFIII, and many other games but they just don't gel with me. I like WRPGs, but I just don't like Japan.

I'll play anything else though.

I don't really have a least favourite genre but I don't like "modern warfare" style FPS games.

The genres I like are:

4.RTS

but the genres I don't care much for is sports, JRPGs and racing

I remember first time I tried to play a sports games I fell asleep after 3 minutes

My preferred genre is (action) JRPG (a la tales series), with my second being fire emblem style turn based strategy. Despite this I love Oblivion and plan on pre-ordering Skyrim soon (bank interest at the end of the month from $60, no matter how little, is still "free" money). I also had a lot of fun playing multiplayer in the original halo on PC. I never owned a copy, this was at summercamp and it was already on the computers.

My actual least played genre is sports and fighting games. I'm not very good at fighting games, and it doesn't help that no free demos contain tutorials (which to me implies they don't want to expand their audience) and I'm not willing to invest in one until I can actually play them (yes I know, it's a vicious cycle). Also, if I wanted to play sports I would go outside.

The thing is actually I don't play a lot of video games, especially major releases. I've only played COD 4, never touched a Halo game, just recently played Mass Effect 2 and Uncharted 2. Deus Ex: HR was probably the first time I ever played a game that close to release date.

However ever since I was like 6 I played sports sims. I know some of you might disagree, but I just loved having the ability to make trades and control my favorite teams. But the only sports games I own came out in 2007 and 2009 (Madden 08 and MLB The Show: 09) There's no need just to get a roster update so I've been playing those for four years.

Also I love fighting games because when I was a kid I used to always go to the arcade and play Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, Soul Caliber, Tekken, etc.

Recently RPGs are quickly becoming some of my favorite games. Mass Effect 2, Deus Ex, even Marvel Ultimate Alliance (seriously it's an RPG hidden as a superhero game, well at least the first one). I just love games that take time to beat and that's why I've become more of a RPG fan.

Never played a JRPG, they just don't appeal to me. But if someone gave me one and said try it I might enjoy I would at least spend a good enough time to see how I really feel about the game.

Yeah so I'd play whatever as long as it's fun.

My favorite genre is Sand Box games, favorite one is Saint's Row 2, least favorite genre is Sports, least favorite is Madden, I don't play them cause I don't like sports and hate that one extra special cause it's incredibly stagnant

See for me this doesn't really work because I would say shooters are my least played genre and strategy is my most with some rpgs a close second.

However, I logged 52 hours into TF2 in one week and honestly if it weren't for being away from my good computer I would have this week too. Recently FPS is probably my favorite genre but I don't really like BF or CoD or any shooters like that.

So normally it would be Strategy or RPGs are my favorite and FPSs my least favorite.

Right now I don't have a least favorite I guess.

I play a little of everything there's no genre i hate but if i had to say my least favorite are sports games. for a list...

RPG's: (Chrono Trigger, Morrowind, Final Fantasy (1,4(my favorite),6,7,8,9,10), etc
Platformers: (Castlevania, Mario (all of them), Super Metroid, etc
Puzzle: Tetris, Columns, etc
Fighting: KoF '98, Street Fighter Alpha 2, Marvel Vs. Capcom 2, etc (sadly I suck at fighters)
Shooters: Halo (I only like the first 1 mainly because halo 2 took away my pistol and replaced it with a crappy one and I haven't played halo 3 or recon yet), S4 League (was my favorite game for quite awhile but its filled with hackers and wont work on my computer anymore).
Sports: last game I played of this genre was punch out (which I only played to beat my brothers challenge and get his NES.)
Racing: Mario Kart (that is all)

I havn't played a sports game since NBA Jam. In an arcade.

To be fair I have played a few sports games with my younger brother but didn't really get into them. And I wish I could say the same for the Shooter I'm playing but Space Marine is coming from England right now to my near-doorstep. Is it fun?

My favourite genres are first-person shooters and turn-based strategies.
But I like alot other genres as well. But I play hardly any RPG's, RTS's, Sports and Racing (Except Mario Kart). Well, Sports is the genre I dislike most, now that I think about it.

Picking one favorite is really hard. I play RPGs(primarily WRPGs) and shooters like crazy, but I also have a deep love for platform/adventure games. I'm gonna have to with RPGs as the favorite though. Overall I spend much more time with them than the others.

The least favorite is any type of sports game. I don't get the appeal. RTS and fighting games are close behind.

So... my generalisation is RPG fans dont play sports games.
Yeah. That seems very likely to me.
