naahhh, final fantasy has no chronological connections, what we got is the zelda of fps.Feralcentaur said:What about that line from Guilty Spark "You are Forerunner!"?Chappy said:I thought it looked like some kind of Forerunner construct so probably a docking bay or tractor beam?Bruden said:Did anyone else think that looked less like "some kind of jump gate" and more like Unicron? It would certainly explain how that planet from 3 disappeared before the ship could smash into it.
Fighting Forerunners could be interesting if that was the case.
That would seem to imply that a Forerunners were the ancestors of Humanity if not actually just Humans.
So fighting the Forerunners would be sort of bland. Since they would probably just be something like Humans with advanced technology... and possibly entirely just dead.
Although this is all speculation and I could easily be misinterpreting that line...
Halo Games Counter:
Halo: Combat Evolved
Halo 2
Halo 3
Halo Wars (not an FPS)
Halo: ODST
Halo: Reach
Halo 4
Halo 5
Halo 6
Total: 9
...This may be becoming the Final Fantasy of FPS. =P

You're a man of good taste.
Be that as it may, Halo 3 had an open ending. And that's exactly what they're going to resolve now. My guess is; Onyx. That's what they can do with the story.darthricardo said:Alright, just gonna do some copy-pasta from the accidental reveal here...
Still relevant here.As much as I like the idea of making more games to explore the world and setting of Halo, I really don't like this. Reach did it right: Halo 3 is really the end, there's not much more you can do with the story after that. Prequels are definitely the way to go; there's like 20 years of the Human-Covenant world to explore, after all. As much as it makes sense for Microsoft to milk this cash cow, there's far, FAR better ways to do this. This isn't just greed, it's crass, stupid storytelling.
