Somehow I'm not suprised to find a Game with the EA Logo churning out money grubbing DLC expansions while the game is still broken, but in the case of Dragon Age it's like they're trying to justify Piracy to anyone who's ever even thought of it. Dragon Age Origins is an overall great game but it's mired by a variety of issues, from unresolvable quests and buggy quest markers to major immersion breaking clipping issues (IE Bhelins Beard and pretty much all Plate Armor). Worst of all are the Memory Leaks, which is a PC only problem and seems to be most severe for DC Processors. Even if you set affinity every time you load up the game though there are still Memory Leaks during several Dialogue Scenes some of which only became an issue after the patch. So what's BioWare Doing? Creating a new pointless dungeon to sell us where we go kill a bunch of darkspawn and reclaim a set of armor that should have been in the initial launch.

I would rather have fewer bugs in the game than more extra missions.

I am sick of spoiled brats whining about how everything should have been in the game on its initial launch. I am quite happy for them to keep pumping out more DLC. They have released the toolset so fans can make their own missions, pump out more missions of their own and have already released 2 patches soo far trying to fix their mistakes and yet your people still fucking whine.
They are working on the issue. Shut up and enjoy it, or don't. Go play some generic rehashed FPS for all I care. I have not come across any of these broken bits so it is not my problem.
WWAAAAHHH I'm whining about people complaining about a game not working properly..WWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH

You should quit while your ahead.

It is a bit of a slap in the face, given people have been claiming the PC aspect of it was finished some months before it was released, and part of the team worked on DLC while it was ported to consoles. It's fine to release DLCs, but maybe some playtesting and fixing particularly gamebreaking glitches before release is a fair enough expectation from the gamers, especially if they have the leftover manpower to be releasing 0-hour DLC.

Quoted for turth. No one was whining about the DLC not being free you ****ing moron, it's a slap in the fact and it promotes pricay when they release tons of low content pay to play DLC but that's not the issue. The issue is that the game's broken and needs to be fixed more than it needs more DLC.

Excuse me? I think all gamers should have the right to fking complain when the game they bought is still essentially broken and is instead of being worked on and fixed is instead saying "LOOK MORE DUNGEONS!"

And just because its not your problem doesnt mean you should just shrug and say "So?"

The fact that they realesed TWO patches trying to fix the problems yet seem to have just created more just speaks of strange coding behind the game.

...and you should quit whining about whiners complaining about complainers while you're ahe...oh wait. You never were.

To rope this (quickly) wandering steer back on topic, I think they have teams devoted to each issue, as patches have been released, and so has DLC. If you wait for it, most of the kinks should get ironed out. Can someone please clarify the 'memory leaks' for me?

For the record, I absolutely agree that clipping issues are the bane of immersion's existence and, as such, SUCK.

I completely agree. I have not come across these problems on the 360 and think this game looks great. Sure it has some problems, but I like it enough to overlook them and play the game. I can't wait for the DLC it will just make the game even better, and if they fix or are fixing the problems it has, so be it. A game will NEVER be perfect when it is first launched.

he's talking about the PC platform, there are completely different issues here, memory leaks freeze the game or cause errors and force you to desktop..if you're lucky, no reboot of the system.
consoles typically don't have these issues, unless devs REALLY FUCKED UP...

Just because they're not fixing the problems as quickly as you'd like them to doesn't mean they're ignoring them. The game hasn't even been out for a month yet. Shut up and stop whining.

Plus, the game is already extraordinarily long. It seems weird to be releasing so much DLC when most people haven't even experienced all the content that's in the vanilla offering. I'm really glad they planned to release all these extra quests, and I'll surely play them when I'm done with the main game, but that's a while off, and there are more fundamental issues that impacting my gameplay NOW.

So it's normal for software to be this broken so shortly after launch while there is DLC (Not even counting the day one stuff.) not even a month, literally thirteen days at the time of this post already out while memory leaks persist and other issues still exist? That is abnormal even for this gaming cycle.

No game is perfect and will ever be perfect. Bugs happen and take time to fix. For all you know Bioware could've had this DLC done before launch, and just held back the release of it. Some studios do that.

According to Avykins the game shouldn't be expected to work right I guess. The whole thing with this DLC is that they have released such a large amount that they should have considered releasing them all as one thing maybe in December. They way it has been done lets people know that they had this shit done before release or pretty damn close. It leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

Say what you will about how 'superior' the PC version of Dragon Age is, the game plays smoothly on the Xbox and I haven't run into any game-breaking bugs. There is no memory leak, I didn't really notice any blatant clipping issues, and the game has played smoothly from start to finish. I can't wait for the new DLC, and the price has been right on their DLC so far so hurray for me.

The thing about PC bugs is they're really, really hard to patch in a fix for (if not impossible). Users tend to ignore any problem that may be on their end and quickly blame the developer. I'm not saying those bugs don't exist, I'm just saying that fixing those bugs relies largely on information provided by the players (who are often a bad source of this kind of information).

Dragon Age has had a fine launch, memory leaks? That's nothing, anyone here remember how bad FO3's launch bugs were? Also, I see no problem with the DLC, there's more than enough content in the main campaign and if they don't want to wait before they start selling DLC that's fine with me, I know it's worth it too me.

Wait your complaining about a game that takes 50+ hours to beat and I have yet to run into a problem with, so they have one patch that came out the day after launch, give it some time and enjoy the damn game
