I could argue with you, but that fact that you are post that Sim city thing in a semi unrelated thread, just to try and convince me on the "EA is evil" thing shows it will accomplish nothing, we are both far to entrenched on polar opposite sides of the argument. You will continue to hate EA, I will continue to by EA games because I enjoy a decent number of them, neither of us will say anything the other hasn't heard a dozen times before, neither of us will learn anything, and absolutely nothing will be accomplished.Nurb said:It's cool, I know it's tough to argue real reasons
Pointing out that it "isn't sarcasm" makes me suspect an implied insult more that if you hadn't clarified, but even if I disagree with you, you don't seem like an ass so i'll take your word for it.you're not a bad person or anything (and that isn't sarcasm).
Yay! I got that avatar half because I like SFH and half because I because I guessed that some people would find SFH offensive, but no one seemed to recognize it until now so thanks for that. Unless you didn't know what it was from and that was just a blanket "furries suck" comment, at which point shame on you for getting my hopes up.Whatever you decide, I will agree it'll be better than the comic you got your avatar from.
A) You are right, but only because I learned my lesson about giving them money 10 years ago.major_chaos said:I could argue with you, but that fact that you are post that Sim city thing in a semi unrelated thread, just to try and convince me on the "EA is evil" thing shows it will accomplish nothing, we are both far to entrenched on polar opposite sides of the argument. Having zero exposure to the fans, (who I honestly didn't know existed) I was unaware of this. Its not like I hold SFH as a high standard or anything, its more of a guilty pleasure.Nurb said:C) No, it's not offensive. It's just bad, in both art design and writing. I've shamefully been part of the fandom since the 90's and I've been on boards long enough to know the snarling pit that is the majority of fans shares the opinion, but also to know not to care about who likes what within it. Check out Cheap Thrills.
1. "It's cool, I know it's tough to argue real reasons" sounded a bit like an insult so I feel the need to defend myselfD) I thought you weren't going to argue with me![]()
Ok first of all I wasn't spewing hate. I didn't say anything about EA being "evulz" or anything of the sort. All I was saying was that someone really screwed up and it was funny.major_chaos said:Try actually reading the thread before you come in spewing hate, you look less silly. multiple people have already pointed out that the like came from an unofficial fan page, not to mention my first guess was that this was a troll trying to stir up this exact response. But no it proves your idea that "EA IS TEH EVULZ" so it must be true.canadamus_prime said:snip
Fair enough, you were not doing the "EA is evil" thing so much as the "EA is run by morons" thing which I can understand. Even as someone who is almost totally fine with EA I admit their entire PR/marketing team needs to be fired. out of a cannon. Although my growing frustration with the EA hate made my post more hostile that it needs to be, that doesn't change the fact that (for once) this wasn't actually EA being morons.canadamus_prime said:Snip
Eh. Just a bit of grump on my part actually. You're right - no need for me to bring the brick hammer down. (I was getting ready to head into the office, I'm generally grumpy before work.)TheFunPolice said:That was cutting...But I can't be expected to read every single post on these forums and investigate the validity of every single goddamn story, can I? This was something that was just amusing. I don't care if it's true or not, it made me laugh ^_^ No need to come down on people with a shit ton of bricksJEBWrench said:You mean, from the people who thought it was EA who made that post? I agree.TheFunPolice said:It feels so wrong to laugh at...The level of embarrassment is unreal
Or, maybe, just maybe, the game works fine for them? You know how everyone had problems with Skyrim bugging out all the time? I never had any problems with it. As with Borderlands 2, not a single problem from release while countless others were losing characters and not being able to play some of it. Just because some people can't play it at the moment doesn't mean everyone in the world is unable to.DrunkOnEstus said:Okay, even with the knowledge that it's a fanpage, what crazy person would tell the world that this game is worth every penny at this stage in the launch? Unless they've been a fanpage since the 256 colors days (which would predate Facebook), looks like a troll. Or some kind of Stockholm Syndrome thing where they're very eager to be the first to compliment EA whenever they speak. Very interesting...
Honestly, at first, I was recommending it just as highly. Now that more and more information has come about how major the problems others are having, I recommend waiting, even though I haven't had any problems whatsoever.SSJBlastoise said:Or, maybe, just maybe, the game works fine for them? What we don't welcome is this kind of behavior: attempting to distort the news aggregate by posting apologetic articles and accompanying them with an editorial slant favoring your company, all without actually disclosing to anyone here that you work for the company in question. It's akin to when Ken Lobb was pretending to be NeoGAF's biggest totally regular guy Xbox fan.
I was under the impression that that's what the problem was. That it was "a disaster" because very few could play it, or at least not for very long or without the server deleting things. Even with you being 100% right, I find it dishonest for this fangroup thing to say that it's worth every penny when there's such a good chance of getting nothing for your pennies right now. That's all I was getting at.SSJBlastoise said:Or, maybe, just maybe, the game works fine for them? You know how everyone had problems with Skyrim bugging out all the time? Well being a fan page it is undoubtedly going to be biased but I'm going on that they believe that when it is playable (didn't seem to be an issue for them) it is a great game.DrunkOnEstus said:I was under the impression that that's what the problem was.
