All these people taking it seriously...

Taking THIS seriously.

It's a joke. It's a massive parody of it's own market. It's a parody of American culture, of how what pop culture has become with random rappers thrown into the song and saying literally "blah blah blah", of the over the top nature of competition from a little bit of trash talking to the destruction of his house, of losing his girlfriend because of a video game which is taking the piss out of "I'M A SERIOUS HARDCORE GAMER GUYZ", taking the piss out of the US perception of "having a good time" and pop music and oh...

This advert is such a biting takedown of US culture that I wouldn't be surprised to find Stephen Colbert behind it. It's so brilliant it falls through camp and back into brilliant.

Yes. YES!

Though speaking from the British perspective this ad is actually a fairly apt showcase for what we consider American Football to be. Namely more focus on the spectacle over the actual sport.
This is a very interesting point.

Oh hey it's another one of those absurdist commercials that are targeted towards young dudes/men for some reason!
Meh, it was okay not as funny as the Old Spice commercials.
That's because while there was randomness to the Old Spice commercials, they required thought and planning. This latest from EA seems more like they just tried what ever came to mind.

That ending really got me laughing. Even EA knows that the only way the 49s could score that easily against the Seahawks is in a Videogame.

But yes, other then the "blah blah blah" part that pretty much sums up what I think of that sort of music, that was an incredibly dumb commercial. I did think about purchasing a Madden game for the first time ever simply because I've been a Seahawks fan all my life...but this commercial made me want to just avoid even looking at it.
