Vargmir took a whiff of the air. He froze, his eyes narrowing, a guttural growl forming in his throat. He was exhausted, but his heart began to beat with a newly awoken energy. The scent. He knew that scent.

Joncis examined the two of them, the short Redguard, he remembers his dossier at least, raised on Stros M'kai, skilled in dual-wielding, has a hatred for Khajiit, and the Altmer, she was an exceptional mage, but quiet, normally out of the way of everyone else ''How'd you two get here?'' Lloden sighed and stood. "Bickering like children and we haven't even traveled an entire day yet. Can't wait for when all this explodes." He stepped out of the inn, and into the early afternoon sunshine. He lifted his arms, stretching. He hadn't had this slow of a day in years. Simply sitting in an inn with companions wasn't about to help him be a better archer. He found the archery butts the guards use for training, and went to town on practicing. Nock. Draw. Aim. Fire. Seconds, at the most, but still far too long. He sighed. Fifty years of this and I'm still not a good as I have to be. As I need to be. Better than most, but not better than the demon's newest champion. Leave it to that beast to answer my threats with an even better archer. The arrow thudded into the center of the target, illicting a stare from nearby guards. Too Lloden's eye, it was just to the left of perfect center, about half an inch. Not good enough.
