We could always use the group for RP and this thread for OOC n such. The two big things the groups have is that only members can post and the home page is a good place to store the characters and news posts when needed. I'm also pretty sure you can't use dice in a normal forum post, though don't hold me to that.
while all valid points, the group is a bit more cramped in my opinion. the thread is more large post friendly to me. I tried to do an rp in a group and it wound up moving far too fast for me to keep up with.

Were they @'ing you? That's how I keep up in the other RP I did.

Though I'm not sure how the group moves faster than the thread; if a big post is needed, it's posted, if it's not, it's not. Though a quick look shows that there appears* to be more posts per page in a thread than a group, which may explain why you feel it moves too fast.

I think that has something to do with it. Also the page is a bit narrower than the normal thread. I'd go to sleep and six or seven new pages would be created. it got to the point where my character was seemingly teleporting around with people before i dropped out.
I'll give it another try.

Yeah, I'll admit that can happen, though I don't think this RP will have enough people for it. Timezones are also another factor in that

Well first time RPing but I'll give it a shot seeing as I can't stop thinking about it.

Name & Gender: Talen, Male

Race: Imperial

Age: 16

Personality: Very quiet. Dislikes killing and violence. Likes reading (His mother and later Furion taught him how. When he was in the Thieves guild he stole books for himself).

Appearance: Slightly under average height for his age, slender but with muscle. Scars criss-cross his back from an abuser's enchanted whip. Dirty blonde hair that reaches halfway passed his ears and brow. Blue eyes.

Equipment/Spells/Abilities: Peasant's short sleeved shirt and long trousers. A thick traveller's cloak which he also uses to sleep in. Short steel dagger. Born with special condition to disable magical spells and enchantments on touch if in a panic. Cannot use magic. Most spells have no effect on him except for destruction magic. Is not affected by illusion, alteration or mysticism magic. Restoration magic has little effect on him. All conjured weapons disappear on touch. This does not apply to conjured creatures however.
Own's a strange amulet made for him by his mother.

Bio: Born to a pair of mages in the guild in the Imperial City, he was studied for his unique condition. His father went insane when he was 5 years old and murdered his mother in front of him. When his father turned on him, he let out a scream, and his father exploded. The mages concluded that his father went insane because of his son's condition, and the explosion was caused by the condition affecting the insane man's blood when his son screamed.

He was ran out of the Imperial City by the the Mages Guild, where he was picked up by bandits and sold to slave traders. The leader of the slave traders was a woman and also a sadist. She had a tendency to throw him into rivers naked and order him to swim to the other side or die. She also liked to tie him up and hit his back with her whip. However when the group was in Daggerfall, she had her whip enchanted, and when she tried out her new toy on Talen the whip fell into pieces. Amazed she had the magic user in their band test out various spells on him to find that he was immune to most of them.

After this discovery the band headed back to Cyrodil to sell him to the mages guild. They sold him for a very hefty price to one of the more seedier members of the guild. Once the man presented him to the arch-mage he flew into a panic and tried to kill the boy, fearing what happened to Talen's father might happen to him. Talen escaped the arch-mage's fury and hid in the waterfront district. There he was taken in by one of the beggars named Furion a Khajiit who became like a father to him. He was then apprenticed into the thieves guild through his new father's connections.

He has now become very adept and of great use to the guild's leader. Although the mages have now heard rumours that the boy is alive and in the waterfront district. Furion, looking for a way to get his adopted son to safety, heard that a man named Joncis was looking for help with a delivery. Furion presented Talen to the man, telling him of the boy's talent as a thief and his ability to disable magic.

Pretty good for my first time right? Please fill me in on what happens from here on out and how to keep up to date with this. I've never done this before but it seems like fun so far.

So . . . am I in? :p I can't wait to see who's in the group! Even if I'm not in, it'll be fun to read. Haven't been apart of a decent RP in years!

Lot's of interesting characters so far. Can't wait to see how it unfolds. :D

EDIT: Oh, I know it's the twenty-fifth. I'm just messing around. :) Still, exciting stuff.

I think he said the 25th, there are so many interesting characters I wish that more than 12 people could make it into the group.

I wish I didn't have to get rid of my guy being a war vet.

Makes him less interesting in my eyes.

Though, still excited to write out an entire post from the point of view of an Argonian hunter and use metaphors out the wing-bang-wozzle

I'm looking forward to getting to write Khajiit dialogue. I get the feeling I'll have to write out a line then rewrite it to fit the speech patterns Khajiit use.

Nothings stopping you from being a properly irreverant old man and mocking our speech patterns

Well I just hope that the group has some good variability and that I'm in it
I am very consistent on this website, so posting will be no issue

I like the way Khajiit talk. It's very different. They're a fun race. ;)

If I'm in I get to be The Big Guy. [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheBigGuy]

Well people if you want to be part of the roleplay keep in mind that timezones are something to watch out for, I live in the UK so most timezones would need to adjust for that, also getting everyone in (even in smaller groups) is normally a ***** to keep track of, though I plan on taking the roleplay through other provences too (as in we leave for Valenwood, then we end up going to Black Marsh etc.) so if some people are keen on getting in, but don't make the cut, your character could always be repurposed (like if you want, an Argonian doesn't make it in, but he could show up later as a bandit or bodyguard).

Khajiit talks strangely? This one thinks it is the other way around.

If I get in I'll probably be the smart guy, although given the possible group size its more likely I'd be one of the smart guys.

In a group this size, Idreon will probably opt for one of three roles, either a trailing scout, surgical 'obstacle' remover, or direct bodyguard.

Nothing says 'I Win' like stabbing some one with your claws and freezing/burning/shocking them from the inside out. ... Or casting magelight on someone's eyeballs if you're just feeling mean.

I'm interested to see if Bites-Her-Tail gets in. She's not exactly... stable, so the best thing she can provide for the group is defense against enemies. That being said, she's very good defense to have. If a bit messy.

And I believe writing her dialog is going to be fun as well.
