Elitism and You.

I'm VERY elitist. It's not even about something specific, when someone says something I don't agree with I can't help but talk down to them.

Was that a joke? Or are we about to have a ultimatly pointless exchange of words?

Well I'm not elitist or an obnoxious South Dektan like your good self. For the record child I have grown a mohawk. You wear a hat, get it? and kudos for reading my profile (special weshal star for you *) When you finish at college come look me up kid I have just the position for you.

But on the subject of elitistism I feel that pointing out peoples shortcomings and acting all high and mighty just because you know something they don't makes people come across as a dick. Explaining, encouraging and is some cases correcting (if its in a good natured manner) peoples views is far more rewarding than making them feel inferior. This whole "I know more than you malachy" only serves to alientate people. Why bother????

Being the taoist that I am, debate and elitism aren't something I exercise unless I'm very tired or cranky. In that case, it's usually on the subject of language that I correct people.

In my normal, more levelheaded state, I just let people live with their mistakes in judgement until they realize that they didn't get it quite right. They tend to learn a bit better that way.

I'm incredibly elitist at school. It's hard not to be, the level of intelligence in some of my classes can be... ugh. (Mind you, I take all A level classes with the exception of Honors English.) I suppose it satisfies my ego, but other times it just makes me weep.

I used to think I was an elitist but then I looked around at all of my friends and people I hang out with in general and realized that I'm the least elitist person I know. They also talk down to me about things I'm actually an expert on (in comparison to them, anyway). So I guess I'm kinda anti-elitist.

Although I think if given the chance I could be a pretty decent one.

I am so elitist when people got ( past tense cause i stopped ) world of warcraft dps coefficients wrong i actually went step by step showing them how they should go about calculating dps, then i went and data logged their results and showed them how to better improve their dps. ( I'm not kidding... so that's how i got the infinity sign from /played ! )

What if that guy speaks 5 other languages including latin, is exceptionally gifted in math but simply cant give a shit to learn english cause too many dumbasses use it and they dont wanna appear like a conformist? =P
