Also, OP, can we cool it on declaring "the end of the fandom" with every change in the show? Since when has something causing a huge shitstorm brought the end of any fandom? If anything, it only makes it bigger.

Damn, even Eternal Nothingness is pretty cool with this.

Try making that statement AFTER season 4 has ended. Yes there is a season 4 in the work and last time I've check that will be the final season. (Forever!)

As for the whole Equestria Girl trailer, I'm not sure what to make it but I know I will be checking it out just for the sake I can truly say if it's good or bad then to judge it from the trailer alone.

Meh. Not sure if want.

At best it'll make Hasbro a few bucks and be a nice but pointless diversion. At worst, it'll flop hard, and they'll hopefully know better next time.

It looks like every chick flick with a high school setting ever (and I do mean that, it's, like, concentrated chick flick stereotype essence), but animated and with a plot involving interdimensional travel, magic, and talking ponies. I'm torn between thinking it will probably suck, and realizing that with a description like that, it could be one of the best things ever. Anyone ever watch Earth Girls Are Easy?

Since when did Hasbro or the writers say that Season Four will be the final season of MLP? Do you have proof?
No I don't and now I've check my info again, there is no official words that season 4 will be final season.

Still it won't surpised me if it does turn out season 4 could be the last one despite how huge it had become (we all know it will end at some point in the future).

Well, seeing the characters animated, they don't look as bad as the still-images we first saw.

The character-designs are still dull and samey, though (why are they all wearing the same kinds of skirts and boots?) and it's unnecessary.

First impression
it looks exactly like what Lauren Faust tried to avoid making when she first started working on FIM
This is the thing that bothers me the most. Even if the movie will be fun, if it goes for the girly-girl chliches it nullifies everything Faust wanted to achieve with MLP.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
It doesn't look good but its a spin off thing, its got no real place in the cannon of the normal fim universe. I'll give it a shot, I mean talking multicolored equines ended up being fuck awesome so perhaps this will to, I doubt it since things aimed at high schoolers tend to suck but it actually looks much less bad in motion. Although, why the fuck are Applejack and Rainbow Dash's human analogs wearing dresses? Dog Spike's crush on Rarity is gonna be really damn weird in it also.

Bronycurious actually sums up the trailer and the general thoughts about it pretty well.

You know what?

This doesn't seem that bad.

I mean, I was never too worked up about the whole Equestria Girls thing (it's only a spin-off, so as long as the actual show remained good I could just ignore it), but that trailer doesn't actually seem too terrible. The prospect of watching the Mane Six adjust to being human sounds hilarious, the designs aren't half-bad, the potential romance is... unsettling, but there's still no guarantee of that. A lot of the main show talent is working on it, and I would trust those brilliant mad gentlemen with my life. I don't know, I'm still a little uncertain about the whole thing, but this really got me wondering whether it might actually be... decent.

Hey, now it will be even easier to make porn fanfiction for the bronies.
Rule 34 is a way to gauge the popularity of something, the only way this will get a ton of porn is if it turns out to be awesome, which I doubt it will, so don't hold your breath, besides there are already a ton of humanized pony pics out there.

If you honestly believe something as trivial as this is going to bring an "end" to the brony community, then you are sorrily mistaken, my friend.

As twinkie above me said, it's a spin-off. I probably won't see it, as watching that trailer you provided was enough for me.

I'll stick with the show I know and love: the one with actual ponies.
As someone who's been seeing nothing but whining over this, I'm actually excited to go see what it'll end up being.
Count me in as being one of the many who might go to theaters to see this.

A big resounding "Meh" from me.

It's a spin-off. If it turns out to be horrible, then everyone can ignore it (of course, not everyone will ignore it). I don't have my hopes up that it will be any good, but I'm not going to complain about it.

Of course, I've reached the point where, if FiM itself tanks, I'll just move on and not ***** and moan about it.

There's tons of fan stuff of humanized ponies out there, so I don't see what the big deal is for Hasbro to experiment with it for a movie. And even if this movie flops, I sincerely doubt it will bring an end to the Brony community. As long as the show is still going strong, the fandom will always be there, like it or not.

Although I do anticipate some funny riffs to pop up on Youtube once this thing is out. That should be interesting to say the least.

This trailer has made me... cautiously optimistic. It could suck ass but the chance of it being at least decent at 55/45.
