I've dated people of my own sex and I have no problem with people hating me and saying I'm going to Hell or should be executed. They can scream until the cows come home. Go nuts, guys. Why? Because I enjoy that freedom, so it would be insanely selfish to stick my nose up, pour on the crocodile tears and go running to Daddy to make them stop.

No, the point is that he then tried to encourage other people to hate. Incitement to hatred. You can hate people all day long inside your thick skull if you'd like. But as soon as you start to spout hatred over other people, don't expect them to treat it leniently, that's my view. And this wasn't simple hate either: it's not me saying "I really dislike you", this is me saying "I want you to be executed, and I'm going to encourage people to think the same".
