People seem to have put down Germany as a brilliant team of world beaters and England as a tired, aged squad. If you watched Germany against Serbia and Ghana, you'd think otherwise. Hell, even against Australia they weren't that good, it was just poor opposition.
England are getting into their groove at the right time and if we manage to beat Germany today I believe we can beat anyone.
I also had a dream last night that England win on penalties, if that counts? ;)
I say 2-1 to England. 2-1 seems to be the flavour of the knock-out stages so far.

The octopus is WRONG. WRONG...I hope...
We face Argentina after Germany if they win they're game, and we always have problems with the Argie's!

England tied with America (and I didn't know that the Americans knew what proper football was) and Germany beat Australia 4-0. As an Australian, I don't care now that we're out.

Sorry, guys, but your team never does well in World Cups.
In every world cup we make it past the group stage and and mosly into quarters or semi's. Pretty well by my standards.

Germany missed their first penalty for 33 years this tournament, could be a sign.

So, that's good for England?
Well, then you really have low standards.
Also, England appeared in the semifinals two times. Germany - eleven.
Statistics.
England has been in the finals once. Germany - seven times.

Tell that to David Beckham in 2002. 1-0 in the group stages ;)
Very winnable. Oh and the fact that Lionel Messi has never scored against a team that has John Terry in it. He shuts him out of the game.
After that we possibly have Spain then Brazil in the final. Now THAT'S a tough run in.

Yes that is quite good actually, obviously i want us to get to finals and win, but when most good teams are out in the group stages this year, i think we've done well.

I fear spain more than brazil this year, as brazil aren't playing any of their good players, also no one with their name beginning with "Ron" lol

This might surprise you but I root for England and my favorite player is Frank Lampard.
But statistics are statistics, and I think personal history between Germany and England does a lot to prove my expectations.

I fear them, too. Their diving skills are unparalleled.

Ain't it about time the British let the Germans win something?

Considering the last 90 years...

EDIT:

Eurovision - Germany beats Uk

World Cup - Germany beats Uk

They should consider trying for European domination again this year...

I was glad we ended up playing Germany instead of Ghana. If we end up against Germany, Argentina and Portugal, there's a slim chance England might put the effort in to go far, because we really don't want to go out to any of those guys. Against Ghana, they wouldn't have bothered. 'Well fine, we got through the group stages, that all anyone expects by now.'

Sobering thought England fans.

Since 1966 England has never beat a major international team in the knockout stages of a tournament.
Even the psychic octopus says we aren't going to break that habit anytime soon...

Hoping England win... but with the recent performances we've put on, I just don't know... Though our last match was unlucky, we should have scored far more!
