We want Heskey on as he is a player who is good at running through their team as he is so large. If he doesn't play joe cole i think we won't have a chance.
Heskey isn't much use, really. Sure, he holds up the ball well, but that's about it. I would rather he played Rooney alone with Gerrard in the hole, or even Lennon for that matter since he used to play in that position for Tottenham at times and did just fine. Personally, I'ld like to see Cole, Lennon, and Milner on at the same time, but that's just me.

England currently are playing very badly. But germany are sucking too. I can't tell whats going to happen, but Europe has sort of died this World cup. Ignoring Holland and Spain, as a continent we've failed.

I really want Germany to win so that we stop giving two shits about the World Cup here in England. Then I can get my Pointing And Laughing Finger out to make fun of all of those who said that "This is the one!"
Yeah; because that's totally not an incredibly childish and just genuinely unpleasant thing to do now is it?

Anyway; as I've stated throughout I'd rather England not win the world cup (though not for the kind of reason I quoted) but I'd like us to beat Germany. We may have begun to peak at the right time; we may resort back to old ways - it depends which England side shows up today; because the Germans are, as usual, impressively efficient.

Anything but penalties - I don't think that I can stand the penalties.

Right now I am just hoping for a decent game with little arsing about in midfield and long high balls lofted to nowhere.

I fear spain more than brazil this year, as brazil aren't playing any of their good players, also no one with their name beginning with "Ron" lol
I fear them, too. Their diving skills are unparalleled.
Well, it's better to play against Brazil than Portugal. I still have nightmares from the last world cup match against them. I can't stand Ronaldo.

OT: 2-1 for Germany

Hmm.

I'm hoping for an England win. A good 2-0 or something.

Realistically? Who knows. We COULD pull of a win, but....well, we'll see :)

ooh interesting two classic high performance teams, probably the first match between two "giants" this world cup. That said I'm for Germany, they played ok and are our neighbours! (and also our football arch enemy)

2-2 and Germany winning by penalties! (probably not but hey)

Ain't it about time the British let the Germans win something?

Considering the last 90 years...
didn't the British loose miserably until their big brother America came in the last 90 years?

1-1 into extra time, Germany then clinches the winner.

As much as I love England... yeah, Germany will most likely win. I don't even think I want to watch, I'll run out of nails...

No.

This needs no other answer.

Incorrect.

As far as the football goes, I have little hope for us. I dont know much about football I must admit, but unless we've somehow been saving ourselves up for this I cant see how were going to beat the Germans.

I expect pubs across the country will be doing extra good trade this afternoon though :p

I could care less about the football... it's actually tempting to use up the time of store clerks when it's on.

Should anyone bother pointing out the many flaws with this statement... nah, it's off topic.

Coming from a Welshman here...I hope England actually win...[small]*shudders*, I feel so dirty.[/small]

Nah joking. Seriously though, I hope they do well but I just don't see them beating Germany. I predict a 3-1 win for Germany.

Staying up to watch it, my first world cup match yay.

OT: I have no idea, I have't seen either teams play in this world cup so I don't have any predictions.
