Why the hell are people talking about the war?

Grow up, this is a game. Honestly, I have no idea how it'll turn out.
The under 21 team og Germany dominated England in the finals and quite a few players from that team are in the main team now.

I really, really don't know. Before the World Cup I really liked England's game, but they've been a bit dodgy, just like Germany. It'll be a close match.

I want to see Germany win, but then again I don't have a grudge agaisnt England (mostly for writing the 3 Lions song).

Go germany.

Don't ask for a link, I was too busy laughing to ask my dad for the address.

I don't really care myself. I just sit back and watch the England fans get all excited about beating Germany, when Germany only cares about beating the Dutch.
Never fails to amuse me.

The octopus said we would lose and thats a bad sign (by we i mean england).

I think it will be a good game and I think (or is it hope) that England get the win. They have started very slowly but maybe, just maybe, they will start playing like they should and give ze germans a good twonking. Statistically, England have won more games against the many forms of the german teams during the history of the world cup and are actually 2 wins in front. Of course, that all counts for noting but it does show we have a positive record against them.

As it is, I quite like this German side and have watched some quite entertaining games involving them. If we lose to them there will be no shame providing we play well...C'MON ENGLAND!!!

The English are the oldest and most experienced team; Germany are the youngest and least experienced. I think we're more disciplined but the Germans are an excellent side as well.

I HOPE for an England victory but it could go either way.

God, I SO want England to win, but I just don't think we're strong enough to--Germany's been pretty solid and it seems like we're only really beginning to click as a team this time around. =/

With Germany's rather poor defence (Lahm isn't enough to redeem it), and Schweinsteiger possibly out injured, I reckon England actually have a decent chance of winning it. And, with the confidence boost of beating the team identified as England's nemesis, I reckon we'd be able to possibly get to the semis off the confidence surge.

I'm certain Germany will score, but if Rooney is in the form the training ground rumours suggest, and Defoe keeps attacking (the German backline is too slow to cope, unless Lahm and Boetang, if he starts, stay back to help the center backs out) we can outscore them. I'd probably rather see Lennon play though, I don't think Milner is effective at all against better teams, so at least with Lennon's pace we could cause them a problem and keep one of their fullbacks pinned back for the game.

We just need to hope our dysfunctional midfield comes together. Hopefully Gerrard can discover some discipline and not entirely negate Lampard like he usually does (Gerrard looks good but at the expense of the team's shape, which we cannot afford to lose at this level).

Reminds me of a soccer match in the movie Flushed Away. It was the World Cup Finals pitting Germany and England together and ended with England losing in penalty kick.

Meh, I'm only watching the World Cup when the Semi Finals come up.

Funny thing: Germany don't have a rivarly with England

We LIKE to think they're still sore over the '66 final, but none of them remember it (Who REMEMBERS losing?)

Although I don't want Germany to win, this year England just doesn't deserve to go further. They were pathetic in the group stage.
