you would need some sort of miracle to do that most of the time.Richard Groovy Pants said:That still doesn't strip Indigo_Dingo from his point.jamesworkshop said:Thats why its personal computer gaming
Except that you ignored the point of my post. Not everyone agrees with you that "PCs can do eet moar betta." You keep repeating the point, the same way someone could keep repeating the point "pickup trucks are better, they can do everything other cars can, everyone should drive a pickup truck." Perhaps you could carry six people inside a pickup if you shell out extra bucks for a King Cab and camper shell... but most folks looking to drive with five passengers would just buy a van instead, and look at Mr. Pickup with the same sense of amazed disbelief that I do when looking at the "PCs are the One True Platform, and all others are mere shadows of its Holy Greatness" crowd.Richard Groovy Pants said:Great way to disregard my post huh?Anton P. However, that doesn't make the platform any better for someone who doesn't share your taste; please stop insisting that it will, in direct contradiction to everything that the free market has shown.
I already said that a PC does everything that a console does, plus more. So why isn't a PC better than a console? You have all the right to say that you prefer a console but at least accept that PC's can and will out perform consoles in flexibility, graphics, controls, custom content and whatnot.
Also free market doesn't say much.
If I went by the ridiculous numbers that free market shows I would be listening to Britney Spears right now, while playing Halo 3 and watching a crappy show like "American Idle".
Steve actually i found that a bit brutal towards PC owners.......not saying that your a brutal man but dude the PC is something everyone need's in the house. Its like one of the most popular forms of communication. I don't disagree because i get a bit fed up with the constant updates, and my computer complaining it needs something i haven't got but its all automatic Download all you need to do install it, PC these day's are easy to maintain.Anton P. Not everyone wants to get elbow-deep in PC guts. Not everyone wants to mess with router ports and driver updates and patches to patches. Not everyone wants to fool around with gigabit-per-second switches to play multiplayer in their own homes. Not everyone wants to run the Red Queen's Race with their hardware.
My comment on the free market was intended to draw attention to the fact that consoles sell, and sell well. If PCs really could do everything that consoles could, but "moar betta and cheepa", they'd have driven consoles out of said free market.
I'm not saying that you have to play on consoles; I'm just saying that you have no justification for telling others to ditch consoles as PCs can do it all, because it's obvious that the Real World doesn't agree with you.

keep on truckin'Indigo_Dingo said:And this will be controversial, but I still say that Valve should invest a bit more time in the console versions of their games (like actually doing something about the Ps3), such as instilling some measure of local multiplayer. I think some form of scaled down local multiplayer for TF2 would be really fun (cripple the spies, but are they able to convince anyone other than the sentries anymore?). And the co-op for Left 4 Dead has to be able to be local.Altorin said:you would need some sort of miracle to do that most of the time.Richard Groovy Pants said:That still doesn't strip Indigo_Dingo from his point.jamesworkshop said:Thats why its personal computer gaming
but that's ok.

Dawwww, I <3 you toRichard Groovy Pants said:Heck I'll have to go ahead and quote Jumplion:
I think that he basically nailed the issue here. People are ignorant regarding PC's in general so they make assumptions.Jumplion said:Basically, PC gaming is an exclusive club of the highest prestige! They have the finest shrimp, cocktails, and wine all rendered in High-High-Def! But it really takes alot of work just to get in the front entrace of the club. I'll assume you were like me once (god I hope so, you arn't SuperMan are you?), pretty much an ignorant bastard who didn't know to much about PCs. Eventually you got in the "know" and got in the club, and you were set for basically life. It takes so much effort to get into PCs for most people, and while I have no doubt in my mind that I will someday be a PC gamer (hopefully not elitist), I'd rather stick to a good simple time with consoles.
Jeez, I think I got off topic here didn't I?
