Damn! Whats with the stars of the videos of the escapist looking nothing like their voices let on, and a bit on the hideous side of the handsome/beatiful spectrum!?
Rebecca Mayes, anyone? And what's wrong with Bob?

I think you're just quick to judge others because of the insecurity you've gained from your own ugliness.

I fucking loved this movie and I also hated Transformers 2 (and 1 as well). I shit myself laughing at that crazy fucking earthquake action scene...thinking "OMG what could they do next to make it even more bullshit" and they fucking do it!!!! I was having a ball watching this movie!

I think its the funniest action movie Ive ever seen. I enjoyed it...its so ridiculous it makes you believe that NOTHING will happen in the year 2012.

Well damn the trailers/ads had me convinced it was going to be nothing but an empty cgi fest but Bob you managed to convince me to check it out. The whole 2012 thing is just as absurd as the Y2K virus crap, people are so very very stupid.

What I can't understand is why the Escapist doesn't run Bob's other video line "The GameOverthinker" That's good stuff. Introspective and meandering, but it works. Plus, isn't the Escapist gaming first?
"Game Overthinker" is part of www.Screwattack.com.

They got to Game Overthinker first, possibly because of the "My Vids don't suck" contest, which he was the winner of.

I apologize if I came off as rude.
:)
There's nothing rude about that.
When in doubt put a smiley in it. :)
I put one in for you.

OK SERIOUSLY! this guy is a complete yahtzee wannabe! ben "yahtzee" crosshaw > Bob "moviebob" chipman. he has a red backdrop instead of a yellow backdrop. he talks fast like yahtzee only he speeds his up instead of genuinely talking fast. he insults things constantly just like yahtzee. he has metal music play in his intro LIKE YAHTZEE. he doesn't deserve to be on the escapist. he has no talent. yahtzee insults games but in a funny comedic way, this guy is just boring. honestly if he isn't funny then what is he? he definately isn't reviewing movies because to do that you need to tell the reader/viewer something about the movie not just insult it. this is just a quick message to bob. GO AWAY! YOU HAVE NO TALENT! YOUR NOT FUNNY! YOUR NOT A GAMER SO WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING ON A GAMING SITE? GO AWAY!
I'd post an intelligent response to your bile-spewing but I'm afraid:
1. It would fly over your head, and
2. Your inevitable all-caps response post.
However, let me be the one to tell you that you look like a tool, and Moviebob is in fact a more knowledgeable gamer than you and movie critic. But then again, alomst anyone with a brain is more knowledgeable than you, as we dont post crap about people without knowing who they are first. Your post leads us to believe that you are ' a big dummy'. So cancel your account here and to quote Gollum:
"Leave now and never come BACK!"

Woah, Mr. Chipman makes an appearance in real life. 2012 is possibly made for people who believe in this doomsdate.
I've seen him before in his Game Overthinker videos on another site that shall not be named. Actually, it looks like he's lost a good amount of weight, and I congratulate him for that.

I guess Yahtzee has been holding night classes on:
Talking Ridiculously Fast to the Point that you may choke and Die 101
EDIT: (Don't read too much out of this comment guys, I am not one of those idiots who says this guy is like Yahtzee, I just thought it was funny how his enthusiasm translated to incredibly fast talking in this review)

Good review, your logic is irrefutable!

This video was fantastic.

I do have one major complaint though.

You completely destroyed my image of you.

I always envisioned you doing these in an iron man costume (with the helmet off). Now I have to think of the sad reality that you wear suits...not of armor...but of cloth.

THE HORROR.

Somewhere a nerd just died from an adolescent heart attack after finding out that Spider-Man was molested in a public service announcement way back when...good job Bob! GOOD JOB!

I do have to admit, your justification of how that shot is good resonated with me. But part of me complains about how earthquakes do not work that way. To each their own, I guess.
Stop.

I often have to tell my dad that when we go to watch a movie.

He can accept that there are cars transforming into robots that are from outer space. But the second someone misrepresents something he has a bit of knowledge on (namely the military) he ends up going off about how fake it is.

Suspension of disbelief is a requirement when you watch any sort of fantasy movie. It always has been and it always will be.

It's because transformers dont exist, so they can do whatever with that. If they had a 4 star general fighting with the troops, that unrealistic, and since the army does exist, they cant just do whatever they want and expect us to believe it. Like airdropping a hover tank or something for the good guys to use. Usually you have to only suspend your belief when it comes to the fantasy part of the movie, the transformers are the fantasy part, so we dont ask how they have functioning cars inside of their crazy bodies. but the military does exist, which is why they dont use laser guns and have super-weapons.

I still don't hold with his beliefs about Transformers. Once you ignore the crappy human elements, it's exactly what I wanted to see out of a Transformers movie: giant shape-shifting robots beating the hell out of each other. After all, that's all Transformers was, and it was good. I wasn't looking for a grand master piece of cinematic revolution, which seems to be what everybody demands and expects from movies. They're freaking entertainment, who the hell cares about the framing perspective of California sinking into the ocean?!

That being said, I still haven't seen 2012, but now that I hear that it was good, I might go see it.

What a dick, research Mayan mythology, its 'not a misreading of a stone tablet' you uneducated fat sh*t. Mayan mythology is quite fascinating and there is a lot of hype of 2012 because the Mayans were the most astronomically advanced of all ancient peoples. Of course its unlikely to be real.

But learn the facts before you post stupid sh*t like this on the internet. Also the movie sucks bad, when I saw it most of the audience was laughing out at the ridiculousness of it. Elephants in slings going over mountains?

Once again another terrible review from MovieBob, and now that I know what he looks I have even more reason to mistrust his nerdy, fanboy taste in movies.

Great review Moviebob. Full of insight, filming techniques, and Michel Bay bashing.
You know i bash michel Bay like no other but just recenlty i learned michel bay directed "the Rock" wich is one of my favorite movies. i felt like a hipocrit? Or is it just possible two good actors made up for a horrible director in that case.anyhow i still would rather gouge out my eyes then watch the transformers movies.

I know the world won't end in 2012.

If it turns out like the Shadowrun series of books and games now...

Thank you, Mr. Chapman, for telling it like it is. This may be "just another" big-budget disaster flick, but it is THE "just another" big-budget disaster flick and it's good to see a movie critic unashamedly telling his audience that he loved it. This is one of the best entries (top 3) in your already hilarious... umm... repertoire? Is that the word I'm looking for? Anyway, thank you for telling the truth instead of heaping more dung on the pile and telling us to enjoy it as it is: a well-made, big-budget, non-hyphenated, uber-disaster popcorn movie.

One thing though: I still say that Mr. Bay doesn't deserve that much hatred for his work. I mean, come on! Bad Boys was f*ckin' AWESOME and I had all kinds of fun watching The Island. If nothing else, he's still better than Uwe Boll.

...wait, what? Uwe Boll just released a good movie???

Well then, maybe Michael Bay really *is* the worst director out there. But I still say that he doesn't deserve every insult flung his way.

[small]User was put on probation for this post. Michael Bay truly does deserve every insult. Have you not seen his movies?[/small]

1: To MovieBob: I agree with the general consensus. This was a good review, and I still kick myself for not going to see Paranormal Activity. Stupid social life!

2: To MovieBob haters: Admittedly, his format is pretty similar. But why not go with what works? A lot of Stolen Pixel comics make sarcastic "breaking-the-fourth-wall" jokes. Are they copying Unskippable?

3: Back to MovieBob: I'd ask if you were going to review "New Moon," but I'm pretty sure only two results are possible: 1) It'd basically be like your "Harry Potter" review, or 2) you'd probably laugh in my face and say "No."

Nice Review. I was searching out the letters of hyprocrite on my keyboard when you said you liked it but it was nice to see some proper reasoning in a review for a change. I wish I had you for my english teacher and you might have actually made me at least not dispise the subject. I have new respect for your other reviews having seen this one, keep up the good work.

Great review.
The Micheal Bay version of the scene made me genuinely laugh out loud.

I've been meaning to ask this for awhile now but how come you don't have your own video link bar on the side of the home page like all the others? Your videos are great and it always seemed a bit odd.
