Strange how the "worst" Pixar movie is still fun to watch and amazing in the visuals. I'm going to see it cause I kind of have a kid.
When you say 'kind of' does that mean you're refferring to your inner child?
No, my girlfriend has a kid, so I have one by proxy.

But you need Oil to Make Energon(not just oil, i know anything that can produce energy) but a cars themed Cybertronian war would be pretty epic

More than that, it just became my personal canon! Mater is now the acidental first Prime and begining of the Matrix of Leadership. Who would have thought it was beans that were the prime material for it?
so whos megatron?
I'm going to say the evil child spawn between the Military Jeep and the VW Hippie Bus.

I did not really like Madagascar.
the only movie that I did like was Shrek
sorry if that offends your lemur friend.
Seen 'How to Train Your Dragon'? I thought it was better than Shrek. But I suppose two or three home runs out of many don't really compare with Pixar's track record.

OT: I think if you grew up in the NE, you probably are missing some key formative experiences involving vehicles in your adolescence: in the South (where I grew up), even the Tri-Lam style geeks could identify makes and models of cars and knew a bit about working on them. Hell, one of the best mechanics I knew was among the biggest drag queens you'd ever meet. How's that for being outside of a stereotype?

Also, did I miss some dry humor/sarcasm here in the bit about the Jaguar? Mortimer is almost 40- Jaguar = Cat = 'Cougar'? I suppose I'll have to watch the movie to see if I'm right. Of course, I'm sure I'll get subjected to it by my nephew.

EDIT: Damn, ninja'd on the cougar thing. But in re:

They needed a foreign car.
Also, Jaguar was originally a British company, and is considered to be curvy and sexy. So twice more appropriate than an American car.
I only watched it because Jay Baruchel was in it and he is my Canadian crush!:D
after looking into it I realised that they did Chicken run and that was kick ass

Even though you said that cars is the worst pixar film it is still better than what Dreamworks animation team usually puts out.
but wait Michael Caine is in it? since he is my favourite british actor, I shall see it!
If you haven't see Kung Fu Panda 2 yet I'd check that out. It's probably the only Dreamworks movie since the first Shrek that rivals Pixar in it's depth. Also it's genuinely funny and the fight scenes certainly live up to the first one and then some. Judging by what Bob just said, while Cars 2 may have more going for it than the first one, on this rare occasion your money should be going to Dreamworks in my opinion.
no I have not seen it.
and maybe I shall. but if it not, I am going to complain about it to you(not really)

I got the If Looks Could Kill reference...which is a shame as I was glad to have buried that film in the back of my mind.

Megatron would be Chick "Thunder" Hicks.

A new Toy Story short? That's almost enough for me to go see it. I'm not because I hated Mater from the first one and having him as the main now sounds like one of my levels of hell.

Also "Planes" seriously?

I agree with you guys, I enjoyed Cars 1 and im planning to see this today, so it should be fun.

But wait... Planes? Come on Pixar we know your better than that!

HA What you guys didnt know was that Planes is Cars 2nd Direct to DVD spinoff

Wouldn't this be more like the third because they also did that direct to DVD movie set-up for the old Buzz Lightyear cartoon.
Yeah but that's not cars

I will see it. I still feel Cars was not their most deserving of a sequel movie (where is The Incredibles 2?), but that doesn't mean I consider it a bad movie.

Glad to see I am not the only one that truly enjoyed the Kung Fu Panda movies. In fact, I am going to go all the way and confess: I think Kung Fu Panda (the first) is better than the movie Pixar released that same year (that is Wall-E).
There, I said it... [flame shield on]

I hate explaining jokes but this is what I got fro the "Jaguar" thing.

Jaguar is a big cat. Another big cat is a Cougar.

Implying she is a Cougar by making her a Jaguar car.

Not that funny I know but that's what I think it is.
If they were impling that she's a "cougar" why didn't they just make her a cougar?

Because it had to be a British brand car.
But she has no other characteristics of a Cougar. She's not voiced by an older actress, but a young one. If they had gotten Diana Rigg or Judy Dench to do it, I'd totally buy it. But not Emily Mortimer and not with a character who is portrayed as being young as well. There really is no connection here.
I never said it made sense. I just said it was the only "humours" connection I could make.

That'd be fucking hilarious if it turned out to be true.

...

They could do that after taking a few years break on the Cars "franchise" (dunno if it counts) and say they're bringing it back darker & edgier, and the end of the 1st film reveals the creation of whatever made the Autobots or whatever the Transformers' race are called.

Ok how about it's as simple as this. Aston Martin is the main spy because well it's a James Bond based movie and traditionly Bond drives an Aston Martin. The Jaguar is a female because over the last decade or so Jaguar have been seen as a sister company to Aston Martin. As in both companies seem to share employees and turn out similarly designed cars.

I'd see how many would have hated cars for that reason. Truthfully I hated it because it felt like it was a "What if all the people in the Doc Hollywood movie were cars!"

Ah yes, you're absolutely right. I'm sorry, I mis-read that and thought we were just talking about Pixar in general. My bad.

I would watch a Pixar Transformers film. Daily.

OH man that'd be something. Imagine getting attached to Starscream so emotionally that when the time comes for him to die, you're crying more than you did in Toy Story 3....

I love Starscream T^T *Hugs my Starscream Transformer"
