And you make fun of a movie that you didn't even see, where at least MB went that far. Hey buddy, guess what Scott Pilgrim was about? Video Games!!! Are you really that stupid to say that a movie dedicated to video games is not as good as a typical, piece of shit action movie and that the Expendables is more deserving of the Escapist's praise? Go jump off a bridge with Masterchief and the Marcus Phenix behind you, the world will be a much better place. You are a typical douchebag.
Silent Hill
I am sadfacing you. D=
Are you saying it was a good movie? Or that it was very disappointing?

Why are they making a Yogi Bear movie? There is absolutely no need for it.

Centurion looks like a pretty good film. The action looks great and the story sounds interesting.

Look to all you people complaining about the "irony" that Bob enjoyed Piranha and not the Expendables, do none of you people seek out any other reviewers comments on the matter?

Look at the scores on the movie review sites like Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic. Bob isn't alone in his manner of thinking in fact his position is supported by other professional reviewers, you all act like his opinion is completely out there. Even the reasons are about the same. Really this only goes to show how the average movie goer thinks and how people can act so irrationally when they believe they have been wronged.

In this thread: People continue their discussion of the expendables from last week because no one knows how to let anything go.
Post #3 predicted the entire thread perfectly.

That said, it was a good review. While I only intend to see Centurion for the Ackbar moment (you know the one), Pirahna sounds so horrible I just might love it. I agree about the whole 'so bad it's good' thing as well; Ed Wood was a god at them while Michael Bay stands as an example of B movies gone wrong.

Speaking of Michael Bay, I love the irony of how he's insulted the fans of Revenge of the Fallen constantly without much of a titter from the fanbase. It just goes to show how hypocritical this community is.
But its Transformers 2. If it wasn't for the fact that they were the only films with decently-done CGI robots fighting each other and Megan Fox stratling things no one would have even seen it because of how horrible it was.

Expendables wasn't bad. That's just it. It's not great, I hesitate to even call it good, but I'd easily call it fun or solid. The movie opens with Dolph Lundgren blowing a man in half! That is the definition of awesome action, even if the camera-work sucked. Oh yeah and unlike Transformers 2 the plot makes sense.

So really while there is some cross-over don't lump Transformers 2 fans in with Expendables fans, there's a difference. There's no irony or hipocrisy, except perhaps from people being shocked that we're not letting it go after Bob himself failed to let it go. Don't get me wrong, Piranha and Centurion are both better than Expendables in my book, but that doesn't made said film bad, it just makes it not quite as good. The film just gets extra money for the nostalgia factor and the fact that it puts people together that you've always hoped would pair up. It really is a love letter to 80s action fans, even if it isn't the most elegant of ones.

omfg, I actually had to go back and watch the Expendables one again to see what all the fuss was about... anyone 'outraged' that they have been 'insulted' is the winiest ***** on the entire ****ing internet, and I'm sure that Bob likes nothing more than hating you right the **** back.

Bob, ignore them. please. many of us ARE able to realize that opinions do DIFFER from person to person (I liked transformers, and thought District 9 was overrated, and I will still see the Expendables - on dvd) and enjoy your videos regardless. looking forward to the next review not acknowledging these insecure loosers anymore.

same with yatzee, I don't want some person knowledgeable in the field trying to filter and be P.C. while trying to determine exactly what they think the 'public' should hear. you got plenty of reviewers on metacritic that try (and fail) to be objective and unbias. I'm quite happy to just hear the raw opinions of Bob and yatzee.

Damnit movie bob! Thanks to you I skipped the Expendables, and my brother and the entire audience had one hell of a time. He said it was like a comedy, and everyone had a good time.

Now isn't THAT the point of going to see a movie?

Still love your show though.I guess you were expecting too much from the Expendables.

He started it.Actually Centurion was rushed, this was mainly a part 2 of last week's episode.

The problem with the 'it's so bad that its good' sort of film is that it's okay if I'm getting it from a 99p bargain bin, but there is no way in hell that I'm going to shell out almost £20 at the cinema for a movie I know is not going to be that good. I like crappy B-monster movies, they are good fun and I've had a massive crush on kelly brook since I was 15 years old. But why would I spend the same sort of cash that I did on the dark knight, on a movie thats actually selling it's self a B-grade film?! It's madness!! Pirana Looks and sounds like the sort of thing that should have went strait to DVD.

Breaking News: Twilight fans across the globe thank MovieBob for finally creating ANOTHER audience stereotype...
This needed to be said, thanks for going ahead and doing that. Come on guys, we really can't continue to mock and belittle Twilight fans if we are going to respond with self righteous outrage when the fans of another film are mocked. Anyway, Bob called a hypothetical person who honestly believed that all action movies were much better films before they evolved the worst type of person, not anyone who like The Expendables.

I'm not going to copy paste my little speech I made last week from the expendables into this, I'm just going to say that we were angry with you in that review because you were completely unprofessional and just ranting and whining about scott pilgrim being beaten by what was, in your eyes, a worse movie.
If you had explained why you didn't like it with decent facts to back you up, then no one would have bothered.

Anyway.
Centurion is awesome, I've seen it twice since I got it on DVD last week and I'll be watching it more and more often as I paint Warhammer (it seems like the right kind of movie for that kind of thing)). As for Pirana 3D, if I get it at all it will be on DVD (will it be available in 2D for those of us who dont want to spend X billion pounds on a TV?) but really I'm just watching it for Kelly Brooke...
And saying that I just realised the internet will probably give me a decent understanding of Kelly Brooke's ... ahem... "Talent".

The way you insulted people who liked Expendables + the way you praised some tits in a movie clearly states that you're just another anti-social person with a superiority complex acting tough behind the keyboard because it's probably the only way you have the guts to express yourself.
I was really enjoying your reviews, but I'll stop here.
And I did not see the Expendables, so this is not a hate post about me being insulted or anything. Just my opinion behind my keyboard, but I would like to say it to your face.

I thought this was supposed to be a review of Piranha 3D and Centurion not 'The Expendables' again...

Movie Bob has got one hell of a chip on his shoulder.

As everyone above me stated, nobody cared wether or not you thought the expendables was bad, they cared because you took time out to personally insult them.
Another film critic was fond of saying "YOU deserve better." You could have fixed that with a single apology stating that it's still bad (it's your opinion) and you didn't mean to insult the audience who thought going to such a hugely funded action movie was a good idea, and yet you completly missed the mark.
Fuck you BOB, at least TRY to look into why people were angry.
This. Thanks Warachia.

*sigh* Another "Frat Boy" persona.

Theres a massive stereotype going on here I swear......

As for what was going on in the expendables, people don't like being insulted for liking a movie. That is what you misinterpreted.

The way I see it, I want a good popcorn movie, just pure on action. If I can't have that without being insulted by you...your credibility goes down the hatch.

People might be discussing expendables because the first 2 minutes of the video was ripping expendables and anyone who watched it.

Just watched Centurion, and it was good. Reminded me of King Arthur, though this one wasn't as over the top and silly.
