Alright, in all seriousness, Bob isn't being a douche here.

Movie Bob is a Critic, not a Reviewer. He's not here to tell the world that the movie deserves attention simply because he's paid to. In fact what he is paid to do is give his opinion, not reinforce yours. A critic's job, in the paraphrased words of Yahtzee Croshaw, is to depict the majority of [insert critic's medium here] as the bland garbage that they are to highlight the few glittering bellydancers that rise above it. (yes, that is a reference to the inFamous [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation/767-inFamous] review)

If you really need to have your own opinion reinforced, then go find a reviewer, not a critic. But if you're like the minority in this thread that can actually take a joke with a grain of salt then stick around and let the laughs ensue and remember that Bob isn't here to give you warm fuzzies about movies that you like.

Bang up job by the way there Bob. Looking forward to next week.
This is a valid point, no-one has the right to get good feedback about movies they like and taking reviews like this with a pinch of salt is always a good idea.

However this review barely talks about Centurion at all, as someone said earlier it consists of Michael Fassbender + Doomsday is good, the rest of the video is a ode to Kelly Brook and sniping at the expendables. I expected more about the movie in the title is all.

Never even heard of Centurion before today, so I might give it a go.

But Piranha 3-D? Seriously?

10 bucks says he'll flip out next week over how people are dumb for not going to see Piranha "for bewbs", and saw The Expendables instead.

It's amazing how much people give a damn about that frikkin' review last week. Does it MATTER that he has a different opinion to you? Does it MATTER (on a site, remember, that contained Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw) that he mocked those that liked it? Does it MATTER, frankly, what little nitpicks you have to say about it?

Reviewers amplify previously held conclusions. I don't like the look of a film, a reviewer hates it, I avoid the film. He says it's good, I'll look into it, see if I really DO want to see it.

People live in this strange milase where their decisions have to be made or confirmed by other people. This happens everywhere. Whenever I ask anyone what they want (say, for dinner), they'll say "Oh, I don't mind" but privately will be upset if you chose something they DIDN'T WANT.

Got a bit sidetracked in that last bit, but still, NOBODY CARES WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY, STOP COMPLAINING.

People DO, on the other hand, care what Bob has to say, which is why he has a job doing this sort of thing.

For god's sake I used to enjoy Escape to the movies but if moviebob is gonna just give movies a good review for teen fantasy nudity I might not bother, I hate it when people who obviously haven't seen many naked women talk about movies with them in, they act like it is the biggest spectacle ever.

You know some of us get to see naked chicks regularly, it's not a reason to shell out seven quid at the cinema when I have the internet and the privacy of my own house

I love how Gxas not only predicted it, but he predicted it 2 minutes before someone brought it up. Well done.
Do you mean six minutes AFTER someone brought it up?
Just saying.
Also, the review has The Expendables in the tags, it would be weird if someone didn't bring up The Expendables.
Actually...no...it was two. He posted at 12:10 Pm EST. You posted at 12:12 PM when you brought up the Expendables. You proved his point, although to be fair, you all were provoked by Bob himself.
The first comment of this video, 12:04 PM EST by @Axolotl is about the Expendables.
So, I guess that makes it six minutes prior.
This is really not that important, but I felt I should bring it up.
And I wasn't planning on mentioning previous week if Bob didn't... which you acknowledge... so, I have nothing else to say.

I was expecting Bob to not talk about last week's review, but when there were so many stupid, strawman arguments I can't really blame him. Especially since said strawmen luckily had Bob's little attack against stupidity so that they could believe their bullshit was somehow valid.

But anyway, Piranha looks like hilarious trashy fun (even if I have no sex drive, so tits don't appeal to me). I had also never even HEARD of Centurion before Bob talked about it. I am quite impressed with Fassbender's record; next year he's going to be the young Magneto in X-Men First Class AND Carl Jung in Dave Cronenberg's next film

I do expect Bob to love Machete since Rodriguez is behind the helm

In this thread: People continue their discussion of the expendables from last week because no one knows how to let anything go.

Was expecting more of a review this week. I understand that nothing good came out, but still...
So, you expect the viewers to take the "high road", when MovieBob refuses to do so?

Bob was the one who brought the subject up again and insulted the same people that were pissed last week. So...Yeah, they kind of have a right to be pissed again.

Especially when, just a week after chastising them for liking a meaningless action flick, he praises an even more meaningless movie because, "it has lots of 3D boobies in it".

I will see none of these movies! I am poor and don't care for 3D boobies.

People of the thread, get over yourselves and his Expendables review. He didn't like it. He doesn't care for people who go in for that sort of movie. Name calling is cheap on both sides. No one ever won a poo flinging fight on the internet.

Also he likes boobs. If he sees good ones he's probably going to say something about it. If he sees them in a bad movie he'll make a note of it and move on to ripping on the movie.

One last thing- it's dumb to review a critic. It's especially stupid to review one in their own territory. They never answer. If you have to, do so on your own space. Yahtzee and MovieBob don't care, (and Yahtzee even less so). At least this guy is nice enough to say he's sorry when he gets flags wrong or something. But those are facts, Bob deals in opinions. You can disagree, but attacking the delivery in the same breath is rather tacky I think. It's rarely helpful, and I see it used to demoralize more than help or give constructive feedback.

Okay, now I know what must be done: remake "The Expendables" with an all monkey cast.
I would watch this, quite possibly multiple times. Would any of the chimps be in suits or military uniforms?

AAAnd another thing, one of the reasons we don't let the last review drop is because neither did bob. Someone hit the nail on the head when they said he'll spend the first few minutes defending himself and he did just that. Also this review (being the next one) brings it into direct comparison.

In effect WE are critiquing the critique. I'd give him two thumbs down.

So....... essentially a good film is just tonnes of blood and a pair of tits?
Evidently his favorite film of all time is Caligula.
What?!
Now the internetz are sugesting that is Caligula bad?!?!?!
Well excuse me for daring to suggest that the all-time classic film Caligula is anything less than a masterpiece of epic cinema.

And I did not say that the Scott Pilgrim movie is about videogames. I never said that the movie was good or bad. I said it was about an obscure comic book and that this website is geared more to videogame players who enjoy mindless shooty games.
The goddamn movie is supposed to be set in alternate version of Toronto where videogame rules apply with kung-fu fights and the like. That argument makes no sense, if anything it should appeal more to readers of this site.

Anyways the review was fine as always, I had seen Piranha already and it was a lot of fun. Just ridiculously over the top.
From what I understand Scott Pilgrim vs. The World the movie is based on Scott Pilgrim vs. The World the comic book that was created by someone really into videogames and created a fictional world based on videogame logic and rules. The fans of both comics and videogames do overlap but not enough to save the film at the box office.
I never read the comic book because it does not appeal to me. I will not go to the movie because it does not appeal to me. I will not eat green eggs and ham because that does not appeal to me. I rarely go to the movies and when I do I want to enjoy popcorn and air conditioning and I do not want to see Michael Cera because he looks enough like a teenage Shia Leabouf to piss me off.

Also, you people agreeing with Bob: You're missing the point as well. We're not annoyed because he didn't like it. We're annoyed because he insulted people that liked it, and then talked down at people because they didn't see the indie film, and instead saw the blockbuster. He stated that anyone who saw the big film rather than the smaller one was WORTHLESS.

And then he brings it up again this week.

And you call us the childish ones?

I've never heard of Centurion before.

And this week's review wasn't much of a review either. Why you felt the need to review two movies in one week, other than perhaps you couldnt actually make a full video out of either movie, is beyond me.

I'm sure movie makers will now make sure to always include a pair of tits, as both this week (P:3d) and last week (you mentioned DOA) as being worth viewing because of the amount of tits on show.

I really hope next week, you just get back on track and start reviewing the movies.

Its like Yahtzee and smash bros all over again. Although no one seems to to mind when Yahtzee insults people.

A much better review than last week but, seriously dude. Come on. Drop the whole "Expendables" thing and drop it now. You go on and on and on when you hate a movie way too much. It gets in the way of just making a better video.

As for Pirhana, I don't really have an interest in that (tits do not an enjoyable movie experience make for me) but Centurion looks like I might actually enjoy it. I'll have to check it out.
