Samantha rolled over in her bed and stared at the wall in front of her face. She couldn't sleep. Too much had happened today and now the events were all swirling around in her head like a maelstrom, preventing her from clearing her mind and getting some rest.
Samatha had seen Sky twice, which was never a bad thing; unfortunately, the first time she'd ran into him and kicked him in the chest, and the second she'd yelled at him, turned invisible and jumped out a window, making her almost wish she hadn't seen him at all that day.
Samantha had also made some friends; Cecilia seemed nice, if a little unusual, and it was nice to have someone Samantha could rely on at times.
Speaking of which, that Shikeiki girl she'd met in Cooking class seemed friendly as well, even if she was a little psychopathic, and she came across as the kind of girl who could stick up for herself. Maybe she'd stick up for Samantha too occasionally if she asked nicely.
Even Sky's friend, the one with all the mirrors; he acted like he didn't like her much, but she'd taken a shine to him, and he'd probably grow to like her; after all, she was Samantha G! How could anyone hate her after getting to know her? Yes, it was a little untoward of her to jump onto his shoulders like that, and maybe she should have apologized, but surely he had to understand that it was a matter of life and death!
Sam would win him over eventually. She just couldn't stand the idea of having someone dislike her; it made her feel like she was tearing apart on the inside. She'd have to go and make up with him tomorrow; after all, as far as boys went, he was fairly clean, and he spent too much time looking at himself to bother looking at any particular areas of her, so he might be a nice male friend to have. Having male friends might be nice. Maybe.
Oh, and that girl with the cat-ears; Samantha would have to make a point of getting to know her better. She was remarkably kind earlier, and Sam hadn't even thought to tell her her name. The girl had the air of a cheerleader; maybe Samantha could introduce her to the rest of the squad, try and sway her hand in changing clubs if she hadn't already decided on cheerleading...
Another thing Samantha had found for the day was a mission. She'd found evil in the world, and she needed to prevent it from harming anyone close to her; that evil Donkey bastard and his villainous companions would clearly stop at nothing to snuff out poor, delicate Sky, and Sam wouldn't be able to forgive herself if she allowed that to happen. She'd need to meet with this leader of theirs and discuss matters; with her gunblades, if necessary. Samantha resolved to make that plan B, though; first and foremost, she would try being democratic, so long as the evil psychopath was capable of human discussion.
And so Samantha lay, with a head full of thoughts of friends and villains, and tried in vain to fall asleep. Absently, she wished she hadn't been allocated a single dorm; Samantha didn't really like being alone, and another person's presence might help her empty her head of these restless thoughts. It'd be comforting, just knowing there was someone else there in the room with her... maybe she could talk one of her new friends into giving it a go tomorrow. Ooh, maybe she could talk Sky into it...
Her head full of mischievous thoughts, Samantha gradually faded away into oblivion.
