Why doesn't the Cyber Celeb badge make you a cyber celeb? Has it just become overly common and thus lost its merit (something I personally view as being true for that badge and starting to happen now with the Neo badge)?
Why is it that as Hope Chest was finally starting to like the moderation of these forums, he decided to get himself banned over a moderation disagreement?
Why is it that the only Red Guard (not including staff/ Kuliani) who can lift a suspension/ probation is the one who issued it? Surely that leaves motivation for bias.
Am I really the only person with the Neo badge who can say that they were suspended for two weeks when they had less than 5000 posts?
Besides, some of them just need a bit of common sense. And some users will just answer any questions via PM.

This is something I've wondered about for a while as well. America also only seems to have one moderator (two if you count Canadian mod Baby Tea), which I find a bit strange in comparison with Australia's three. Maybe Australia simply has better users than England.Fire Daemon said:How come there are three Australian moderators and like... one English moderator when more traffic comes from the UK? Always seemed kinda skewed to me. Conspiracy perhaps? Must investiagte further.
We don't mean to be vague and abstract, we just don't want people to start attempting to farm it in any way. The Thanks! badge shouldn't be viewed as another achievement from some trigger (such as getting X comments or Y friends), it should be viewed as a gift for recognition of your actions, as you are personally getting recognised for what you have done by the staff. You shouldn't do something that someone else has done to get the badge just to get the badge, you should do something original (though people have gotten it before for doing the same or similar things) and you should do it because you want to help the community. Having how we got the badge secret is an incentive to try as many ways as possible to be a good contributor to the community, and to get original with how you try to get the badge. It also makes people good contributors to the community, in most cases (I refuse to list exceptions both publicly and privately).Incompl te said:Haha, I'm beginning to suspect there's an Escapist cult going on with the Thanks! badge. Everything is rather vague and abstract...*suspicious face*
