I lurked the site since late 09 and joined in 2010. I wanna say I joined for March Madness but it says April... so I guess I joined for the next year? I avoided the ME3 threads because I hadn't played the trilogy yet and the brony wars I avoided like the plague. Honestly I don't even remember the 4chan raid during MM, I must not have participated or browsed the forums during that time.
Few controversial users I remember but I've talked about them in previous threads before so no need to keep repeating myself. I think I might have seen a Zeel thread once but I vaguely remember it. The extra credits debacle was pretty messed up though, really wish they were still here.

I think I saw Vault101 eventually get pushed over the edge by something, though I don't remember exactly what it was. That was a shame. Was Vault101 the one with the black and white dog in their avatar picture? I can imagine there were nasty conflicts between Bronies and other site-goers a while ago, but at that time I saw how bad things were getting on YouTube so I stayed clear of The Escapist, imagining the arguments could only be worse or more numerous on discussion forums.
I haven't seen much serious sh*t for my time. DVSBstrd was banned a little after I joined, still don't know what for, but that's about it.

I watched thee from afar for nearly a year.
I've been a contributer to a few scuffles but I don't think I've seen any of these "wars" I hear so much about. Mostly I think people read my posts in the wrong tone, give me shit and then I panic and and just fart at everyone and make it worse. One memorable time was a weird argument with someone about The Dark Knight. I said it was a shit movie, that the films were far too melodramatic and that was that until he decided to insult me and what have you. Seemed to think I know nothing about movies, how they are made etc. And then he proceeded to demonstrate his lack of knowledge on that exact subject! Some people, man! But yeah, I have trouble getting a point over in forums so a lot of people take things the wrong way.
But the only big thing I ever saw, really, is the EC thing. Even then I didn't pay any attention... A lot of reading involved. Heard about a lot of stuff, though, like the Vault101 thing.
Does the Xbone guy count? the guy who kept making new accounts to argue with people and start pro Xbone threads? Not sure if it does...

Not that I have anything against them doing that, but IIRC, they were rather impressed by their own daring genius, and totally overlooked their total lack of talent, humour, writing or voice skills.
