Captain Generic here works part-time at a supermarket.
...Meh, it actually pays reasonably well, it's an upmarket sort of place. On to University next year, Aerospace engineering and hopefully something a lot less dreary than retail.

Been unemployed for about a month now as the store i worked in had to let people go as it was starting to lose money and i pretty much asked to go as i didn't much like it there anyway which may or may not have been a wise decision.

It was nice having a bit of a break at first but now Xbox everyday is getting a bit old and places not even responding in any form to applications is getting annoying! luckily i've been making enough to pay my way through selling stuff on ebay and i think i've landed myself a job at blockbuster after a pretty good interview so i may be one of the lucky ones to escape this downward spiral.

Being the successful man about town I am, I'm not only still employed, I recently got a promotion and make close to twice the money I did before. All while still going to school.

Hate to brag, but I'm just pretty really excited about it.

I have a full time job being a dairy technician making milk and whey powder.
Not the best job in the world, but I like it. It can suck at times but well, better than being unemployed. The work itself is good, but my boss likes to terrorize us and especially me.

Well I am a commissioned officer in the military but I'm kept on reserve so I can travel alot.
I only on call during the winter and during emergency combat engagements because I am one of the best officers.

Yeah, i've been filling out more application forms and sent out more Cv's then i care to note. And rarely do i get any response, other then "I'm sorry but due to the large amount of applicants... blah blah blah"
At least you're getting that. I've sent out 70+ apps and gotten responses from 4 potential employers.

Employed as a software engineer/project manager. Hoping to get into a better job this week. Interviews are such crap, so I feel for all of you looking. Most of the time people ask such dumb questions or, especially in the software field, random questions about the language (note, not concepts, just random code, to see if you happen to know it over the phone). That shit just tires me out.

Good luck everyone looking! :)

I'm currently in High school, but I'll be working a job at my dad's company during the summer.

The pay will be shite, but at least it'll pay for college.

I have been gainfully employed at the same job for the past 4 years with no sign of that changing unless I want it to.

I've been working as a pizza delivery driver for a few years now. It's not a great job, but with tips I make enough to pay the bills, and it's actually pretty fun for a shitty job. I was going to school, but I got pretty burnt out with full time school and full time work, and then when the economy collapsed they closed down my program. Now all the local schools are in pretty serious trouble as the state funding dries up. It's actually pretty scary stuff, but at least I'm employed. Heck, if I just got paid vacation I might actually stay in this job. I do enjoy it, and I even make enough to put a bit in savings (Although my car eventually tends to eat most of that with needed repairs. Unfortunately it's still less than a car payment, so I'm stuck with my car that will be old enough to buy cigarettes soon.) I'll have to get a better job eventually though. I can't stand the thought of working another 40 years without a vacation. It just doesn't seem likely with the economy the way it is and me without a degree. So not today. Maybe it's time to start looking into which schools are doing better and what programs they offer though.

I've been employed since August of '08 at the same job. I've seen about thirty people come and go in that time.

I was employed for a long time. Then I quit. Then I got employed again for 2 weeks. Then I quit that. Now I'm employed again.

I live at home, so I don't have to worry about much. My dad got me a part time job where he works. I kind of wish he hadn't...I just downloaded Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain and Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver off of PSN and they are not going to play themselves, ya know.

I changed jobs in April 2009. I work a receptionist job now which is way better than my shitty old security job. I got my current job through my old job and it was an almost overnight transition so I haven't been unemployed in just under 5 years. I realise just how lucky I am since I only know three other people who've gotten new jobs since 2008. It's damn tough out there these days.
