I've been working as a pizza delivery driver for a few years now. It's not a great job, but with tips I make enough to pay the bills, and it's actually pretty fun for a shitty job. I was going to school, but I got pretty burnt out with full time school and full time work, and then when the economy collapsed they closed down my program. Now all the local schools are in pretty serious trouble as the state funding dries up. It's actually pretty scary stuff, but at least I'm employed. Heck, if I just got paid vacation I might actually stay in this job. I do enjoy it, and I even make enough to put a bit in savings (Although my car eventually tends to eat most of that with needed repairs. Unfortunately it's still less than a car payment, so I'm stuck with my car that will be old enough to buy cigarettes soon.) I'll have to get a better job eventually though. I can't stand the thought of working another 40 years without a vacation. It just doesn't seem likely with the economy the way it is and me without a degree. So not today. Maybe it's time to start looking into which schools are doing better and what programs they offer though.
