Nah, it's pretty bad, although occasionally it'll do something so flamboyantly homosexual that it redeems itself.

Badass.

Some of the acts are visually spectacular and occasionally you get a decent song too. Really though, the only reason to watch it in the UK is to hear the fabulously snarky commentary from the BBC. Really, I feel bad for other countries where the commentators take it completely seriously.

Especially seeing as we have Blue representing us (might actually be too embarrassing to watch!)

The biggest joke ever, not even considering the fact that it's all rigged. Unless you are from Eastern Europe, you barely have a shot at winning.
I love how there's this myth held by all the western european countries that all the eastern block vote for each other, when in fact the western european countries are far worse for this sort of thing. Also the current winner is Germany.

I would be watching if I owned a TV. I love Eurovision. I'm told that's odd for an Australian, but yeah, I like Eurovision.

You know the old 90's Band Blue? Well they are back together and are singing for us, and looking at the song, we may have a chance (not to cheesy like the past few years)

I'm watching it simple because when i was like 8-9 i used to love blue xD

Why would I? Eurovision has long since stopped about being about music and been about who can wear the skimpiest outfit. And I also hate my nations mentality that we should win. WE CAN'T AFFORD TO WIN. And I mean that literally. There is no place in Iceland where we could hold the show itself, let alone get a place for everyone to stay.

Nope.

It was fun when Wogan was taking the piss out of the acts but since he's stopped covering the event it's, as others have said, just politics now.

It really died when the Soviet Block split up. Now it's just become a political battleground.

Bring back El Tel!
Couldn't have said it better myself.

I said 'barely'. Never said that it never happened.

Occasionally?

The whole thing screams like a guy who's seen a spider. And it's awesome because of that. That's why we need to ditch the Eastern Blocs Politics.

Exactly, in fact only 2 or 3 winners in the last 6 years are from Eastern Europe. Oh, and the fact that Ireland get into the finals almost every year despite being almost as west as you can go.

I always notice that the people who ***** about this are from the countries like the UK. Frankly, I understand why nobody votes for us, 'cos we've got a stinking reputation. And why not, when our citizens are perceived as drunken louts who piss off locals whenever they travel abroad. When was the last time I saw a drunk Japanese tourist shouting his head of down Inverness High Street? I've never seen this*. We also have this habit of having a go at all of our neighbours and assume they do the same to us (pro tip, most of them don't).

(*While Japan is not in Europe, they seem to be one of the largest tourist groups to visit our town along with Americans, who don't seem to display this behaviour anywhere near as heavily as we do either. But to be honest, I've not seen that many Europeans coming up here.)

But OT, we might have a better chance of doing well if we actually entered GOOD acts. Why the F**K are we entering a boy band who's music was dead nearly 10 years ago?! There is enough half decent British music that there is no good reason for putting out something that is not only dated, but that's not even catchy! At least JedWard's song stuck in my head after I'd heard it. It may be awful, but after 20 something songs, it's the catchy ones you'll remember when you pick up the phone.

I'm from the UK, so no. Everything the UK ever enters into Eurovision is always painful to listen to, and I'd feel my sense of pride for our little collection of islands sink.

Certainly will be. Mostly because I found a brilliant eurovision drinking game, and I have some friends who're eagar to get drunk with euro pop and snarky BBC comments in the background.

I used to watch Eurovision every year but this time I don't have a television, and I haven't checked out any of the entries except my country's (Sweden) entry which sucks horribly. So no, I am not watching it.

No. I didn't even know what my countrys (Finland) song was before I checked it out after reding this thread. It was crap, just like almost every song in Eurovision... ever.

I might keep the television open when finals air, but only randomly check the progress and definately not vote.
