Not really. I was kind of on the wall about infamous and his review made me move it from "might get it when it gets cheaper" to "will get it when it gets cheaper." Though honestly if I didn't have SR2 before he reviewed it, the promise of a more wacky, fun GTA probably would have made me go out and buy it.

Yeah I bought painkiller based soley on his review and the fact that it was dirt cheap in the local Game store. Turned out to be a good buy :)

Nope, no review has ever really formed my opinion, I'm pretty much set in stone when I want to buy a game, and I never take Croshaw's reviews seriously, AvP is a really good game but he downs on it and he like Batman: Arkahm Assylum (Or how ever the fuck you spell it) and I personally couldn't care less because I don't like super-heroes really that much, unless its the Gunstar Heroes.

The few games he ever reviewed positively, I bought anyway before the review came out.
Most of the time anyway.
Yahtzee is entertaining, but he is not a good reviewer.

I tend to buy my games based on what looks interesting to me. Regardless of any reviewer.

No, I'm capable of forming my own opinions on things.
Thank you, I hate all these people who constantly bow at Yatzhee`s feet whenever he reviews something and then depending on the review decide to buy it or not
I bow and grovel before my hatted homemade effigy of yatzhee not for his reviews deep insight, though I do love them even when I disagree.
I worship yatzhee as a god as he has discovered the long sought after secret of making large quantities of money whilst sitting at home in your pyjama's

Saints Row 2 and Mercenaries 2. Saints Row also because a friend lent me their copy, and I loved it. Mercenaries mainly because it was going for £5, and I thought, what the heck. It was quite good fun and I certainly got my money's worth out of them.

I mostly just watch it for the laughs. I've bought plenty of games that Yahtzee down sized and I found them awesome.

Painkiller.

I'd never heard about it.

He was right. So damn right.

If Yahtzee didn't review it, I'd have never known it existed.

I bought Killer7 because he menioned it on his website, and it sounded proper cool. It's now one of my favourite PS2 games, despite the horrid controls.

Painkiller also sounded cool after he mentioned it on his website, but I was dissapointed with that. It's like a combination of Serious Sam and Quake and is less fun than either.

Yes - The Darkest of Days

To be honest, it really is a pretty good game! Though there is one level that fucking annoys me and I can't get passed...

I've been searching gamestop after best buy for some the things he's recommended. Phsyochonauts being last on the list and the Sands of Time being right before. However, maybe it's just because I only recently bought a ps3, but I did buy Uncharted 1 and 2, and am looking forward to 3, even when he reccomended strongly against them.
I can recommend Physchonauts as well it really is a fantastic game! Oh, and welcome to the Escapist. Enjoy your stay.

i can't say that i have, but that's probably due to me being flat out broke most of the time. I'm sure if i had some cash and walked into Gamestation and saw something he'd positively reviewed i would buy it.

I think half the point of his reviews is to warn us away from the games, not draw us to them. Still, I don't buy too many games anyway, so go figure. So no, I haven't, but if he recommends it, and other sources do to, then I shall purchase.

Thought to self - Yahtzee is secretly trying to stop us playing games, by making all games seem bad. It's the only explaination for it all... I should consider taking the medication.

Yeah, because I love buying games which people tell me are shit.

Since I know you're talking about the games which he occasionally mentions are tolerable, then no, Yahtzee has never convinced me to buy anything. I watch his reviews as a source of entertainment, not for advice on what new game to get.

Edit: Oh wait, I bought Portal - so I guess that makes me a liar. But seriously, he freaking loved Portal, and this is a guy who doesn't love anything. I couldn't resist!
