No because Yahtzee does not review games as he is a critic. I have never and will never buy a game based on Yahtzee's opinions as they are purely comedic based and he goes out of his way to tear down games. The fact he only played FF13 and the Witcher for 5 hours then decided to form opinions about them shows how well thought out they are.

I got Painkiller after seeing his review . . . I still play it to blow off steam from time to time.

Saints Row 2 and Fallout 3. I think those were the last 2 games he genuinely liked since he started reviewing.

Only Saint's Row 2. I wouldn't have given it a 2nd glance if the review didn't make it out to be so much fun. I got it on cheap during a boxing week sale and enjoyed it quite a lot.

Curses you free-thinker!

OT: I haven't bought a game because of his review, but I've avoided a heck of a few.

Waiiiit.... Yahtzee has positively reviewed $500 worth of games?

Frankly, there's way too much review information out there for me to rely on a single source as the absolute standard for approval or disapproval of games I buy. I appreciate the angle that Yahtzee takes, that he isn't prone to forgiving games for awful storylines or generic gameplay, and that he can raise credible arguments for why games that are other reviewers' darlings aren't all they're cracked up to be or why other games have been unfairly overlooked or abused despite having interesting and original elements.

I trust Yahtzee significantly more than most game critics. But using his opinion alone? Not so much.

I got Hawx because of ZP's review of it, altho I was already interested, the fact even Yahtzee enjoyed it and its a type of game I missed on the PS3 made it a guarenteed purchase, and it was well worth ever $$.

Once. I was looking for a game to play for this new 'wii' thing whilst waiting for that genuine wii zelda we were promised and Yahtzee said No More Heroes was pretty good. Or something to a similar effect. I personally didn't love the game, but I did appreciate how unique it was.
Oh. THAT.

I bought Psychonauts (which was fucked up, thank you Steam), The Orange Box, Bioshock, Fallout 3 and Super Mario Galaxy based on his reviews, and none of them disappointed. I think if Yahtzee likes a game, you generally have to give it a go to see what all the fuss is about.

His portal review was pretty much what I felt. And I think me and him are the only 2 people that though Darkest of Days was good enough to buy based on the blurb but then were severely disappointed when it turned out to be polished crud. But no, I don't think I have bought a game based soley on his review.

I usually ask a friend's opinion on a game, since I know what they like and don't like and whether or not it's what I like. Also some members of the Escapist. I don't trust professionals (no offense to anyone.) Still, doesn't mean I don't agree or take into consideration some of Yahtzee's reviews, I just listen to other as well.
