Ever Bought A Game Based Solely On Yahtzee's Review?

probably not solely. But its definitely a big factor in my decision. There have been lots of mixed reviews for AvP, but yahtzee convinced me not to get it.

Only Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Trilogy, Psychonauts, and Portal. However, I bought these games WAY after their release, so they were insanely cheap. haha. All totally worth it.

Nah, only listen to Yahtzee for comedy value. He often has valid points, but nitpicking about the minor ones often obscures them.

But about half of all the games he's reviewed I own, not from his reviews, I bought them before that. To prove my point, I am an ashamed owner of Too Human, with 34/50 achievements completed. There's no real explanation as to why I've done so much in a bad game...even I can't put my thumb on it....

Yes, and I've regretted it every time. The Darkness, GTA4, Infamous, etc etc. Luckily I could get a full refund because I worked at the store where I bought them from.

I ended up buying Alone in the Dark to see if I could try a hand at it and try to like it... I usually like everything I play to some degree.... But sadly, I was disappointed, luckily I only paid two dollar and twenty five cents for it.

I go directly opposite to what the guy says. He doesnt really do reviews as much as James the video game nerd reviews NES and other games. Usually, the more disgusted croshaw is, the better the game will be.

Yahtzee led me to Saint's Row 2. I thank him every day for that.

I suppose I'm taken his review into account, but it's never held that much weight with whether I buy games or not. Let's take his FF13 review, if I had listened to it I would have missed out on one of the best games I've played in a while.

Not really. I buy the game like two weeks before he reviews them. But it's always fun to see him reveiw a game I had fun with...waiting for Splinter Cell: Conviction, It's prttey damn good so far.

It wasn't in a video review, but in one of his text columns. He said about Aaaa...: A reckless Disregard For Gravity so I checked out, the demo which lead me to buy it. So yes, kinda.

Closest I've gotten from "solely" buying a game based on yahtzee's reviwes was when I bought demon's souls. I liked his review and started researching it. The sale point for me was that it's bargain edition was out, making it a cheap purchase I will never regret.

If he reviews something obscure or old(ish) that I haven't heard of, I'll look up more info on it, and maybe buy it. But there's been nothing that he's said that's made me instantly run out and buy a game. I mean, he had great things to says about CoD 4, but I still don't own that.

The only games I have that Yahtzee reviewed, I bought before he reviewed them (L4D2 and MW2). I do plan on getting the Orange Box from way back when off of Steam as soon as I scrounge up enough money, but that's less Yahtzee liking it and more almost everyone else liking it.
